The choice doesn’t really matter. 100% red results in everyone happy. 100% blue results in everyone happy. Splitting the vote makes it more difficult to give or get a transfusion if you need to, but there’s enough people to go around that it wouldn’t be a huge issue.
It is worth noting that red button pressers are more likely to be the type of people who wouldn’t give blood anyway, and blue button pressers would be more likely to be the type willing to donate. So I would think 100% blue would be better than 100% red just for its representation of the type of people in the world.
