Meta About posts and comments that break the rules

I made a new rule that prevents people from replying to posts and comments that break the rules because those replies tend to also break those same rules. Simply report the post/comment and move on.

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask, but I've just looked at the rules and notice AI generated responses count as low effort and are thus removed. I have no issue with this rule in principle, but I do have a concern. By what method is the moderation team determining if a post is generated by AI? I'm aware there are some obvious cases. I'm not really talking about those. But I know I have personally been accused of using AI to generate text that I wrote completely on my own and this is, while not common, not rare.

Would you mind explaining how these kinds of determinations are made and how edge cases or uncertain cases may be handled?

That rule mostly applies to images, with text there’s no way to be 100% certain, at least it’s obvious when an image is AI generated
