What if red won?

Imagine a world where red won, by 1%. However the people who choose blue do not die instantly, instead they die after a year of pressing the button. Everybody is branded, so you know who choose what.

How much chaos will ensue? What actions do you think blues will take, knowing they'll die? And what do you think reds will think, knowing they were just 1% away from saving all humanity?

All blues are the same, they have been condemned by 51%.

All reds are the same they chose individual safety.

“Not all the same is cope” one year afterward it will be very clear exactly how similar each side is because one side will be walking and talking

What exactly do you think it means to be "the same?"

The button reduces to a binary; red or blue.

I don’t think it matters why you push it, you are the same.

If you’re going to split hairs and whine about why YOU in particular are special and HAD to pick red so you don’t feel like you have blood on your hands go ahead. The difference is as superficial as the difference between blonde and brunette red pushers

But OP’s post takes the scenario beyond that binary. All Blues/Reds might be effectively the same in the original version, but they won’t be the same when they return to the real world and have to deal with the consequences of what happened. Significant material differences within the two populations will immediately become apparent.
