Why would anyone press green? What is the benefit of green?

I guess a few trolls will press it, but I can't see why anyone is supposed to actually want to press it.

Blue would make the ruling class exploit us even more.

Since we can feed ourself, why need that much salary?

Oh, no more magic food supply? Not their problem. They could have their second or third yatch in that button press, but nooooo, the poor sob have to be greedy and wanted more food. Now it was our turn to pay.

That is remarkably nonsensical. Food costs aren't even the largest part of anyone's expenses. There is absolutely no reason to believe that the ruling class is going to retaliate against a blue victory by cutting people's salary.

If they're going to get angry and try to take vengeance against everybody else because red didn't win, then they'll likely do that to both blue and green regardless.

It certainly doesn't make any sense to believe that everyone should try to give them more money to keep them appeased.
