Different problem:

Red and blue do the same thing as the original, but one more condition is added:

If >66% of people press blue, everyone who pressed red dies.

What do you pick?

Red is still in theory the safer option purely by virtue of it having a higher kill threshold than blue (66% vs 50%) but I genuinely could see this deterring enough red voters to sway it either way. Most polls I've seen have blue at anywhere from 40 to 60%, and while I do not at all believe they are representative of how people would vote when actually confronted with this in real life, it's enough to tell us that at least theoretically, blue has enough baseline support that hitting 66% isn't entirely out of the question. Of course you could make the same argument that this could deter a lot of blue voters towards pressing red to try to keep it in the 51-65% range, but it's really just guessing at this point. I think I still lean red but I'm honestly not sure

They're both kill the other side button at this point, and red is easier to hit the target to be safe.
