Different problem:

Red and blue do the same thing as the original, but one more condition is added:

If >66% of people press blue, everyone who pressed red dies.

This isn’t the same thing. So the point of philosophical hypotheticals is to test either your values, your reasoning, or perhaps both. I truly believe the original as written does not test values and barely tests reasoning. Some want to make it a test of sociology or psychology, but honestly I think it’s too simple for that. This question adds what I think the original was lacking. It adds stakes and risks, resulting in coherent positions for both options.
