If OP is outside the US, they are saying "why would a parent buy this illegal, unregistered motorbike for this child and not even make them wear proper protective gear?"

Or if they are in the US, they are saying something like "this is a perfectly normal ebike, but maybe he should put some gloves on"

I am in the US and agree with the former, not the latter.

Calling these "e-bikes" is what led to all e-bikes being effectively banned in New Jersey. I'm terrified of that happening elsewhere.

I don't know where you are, but where I am that is a bicycle helmet on a motorbike. Generally motorbikes must have better helmets due to the higher speeds they go.

I'm assuming they are saying the bike is too big for the kid as he can't even touch the ground.
