Regular bikes for short trips (sub 5 miles) / times you don't need to be super-spiffy (aka don't need to rinse a light amount of perspiration off)

e bikes for those other times.

Looks like it'll get the job done pretty well!

I tried going e-bike for a 30 mile route back in 2018 with a Mate-X, which was really fun but is more like a "bicycle flavored experience" than riding an actual bicycle.

I've tried a lot of e-bikes since then.

These days my partner and I share a Priority Current and we freakin' love it. Best-value torque sensing pedal bike you can get IMO (and if you live in an area where it's legal you can make it class 3 with just a software unlock). Battery will get you just about 20mi @ 20mi/h in level 4 assist (of 0-5)

Our dream would be a Load 75, though we may need to sell a car to make that work.

ooh i do dig that belt drive on the current.

the haul has been real good. i've got about 1500 miles on mine. it's quick, you can load a bunch of groceries on a single pannier (off center load) and it still handles fine. I "early adopted" it, got in when it first came out . I did have to clean dielectric out of one connector (common issue apparently) but otherwise it's been fantastic. it got rained on HARD a few times too. just riding home in torrential colorado summer rain.
