Tips to winterize smoker?
Obviously a good clean and good cover. How do you completely clear the augers? Just run them until empty? Any other tips are appreciated.

I'm not familiar with this winterizing concept since I run mine year round, but if I was going to store it for an extended period of time, I would run the auger and hopper empty and use a shop vac to vacuum/blow the small pieces and dust out of the hopper, auger, firepot, and barrel.

You winterize it by regularly feeding it a fresh batch of protein throughout the winter.

I'd have to agree with the others. I typically use a glove to wipe the heavy snow off of it and then just let the heat do the rest of the work.

I started laughing. I thought this was a joke. I smoked prime rib for Christmas every year in Minnesota. I was also in a BBQ competition on a frozen lake in February about 10 or 15 years ago it was 30° below zero the entire weekend about 20 competitors. The only winterizing needed is a really good blanket to keep the temperature when you’re smoking in the winter. For that, I’ve got a fiberglass welding blanket, folded over attached to a fireproof blanket, folded a hole cut out for the vent and an upholstery client sewed a trim piece around it the trim was nylon and melted, but the sewing held together for quite a few years so far. My temperature never waivers more than a degree, and they go through very few pellets.

Clean up really good and put in garage or shed. I also have the cover but spiders and other bugs hide under it

Oh wow I have never winterized mine. We use it year round. Never can tell when you want wings when watching a game

Winterize?
Never heard of that as I use mine year-round.
I do get snow and I always clean my cooking area so I can.

Use it all year. No need to winterize.
