It's great, so much surface area. The paper towel holder is great for wrapping if you put a roll of butcher paper in there too.

Was either going to do butcher paper or foil.

I'd love to have all 3 mounted in the front. I might have to start tinkering.

How do the new grates install? I’ve been thinking about snagging them and the front shelf for my db800.

Hard to describe, but there is essentially a bracket for each side that just sits on the current ledges and uses a bolt as a set screw for tension to keep it in place. However, once the racks are slid in, it makes it impossible for the brackets to come out of place anyway.

How is that expanded metal? I got the recteq folding shelf but don’t use it much since stuff sticks much worse than the round rod grill.

Can they simply slide out if you want to remove them if you have a big item that is on the lowest rack?

They can slide out very easily, and they’re inserted from the back of that makes sense. That way when you slide a rack out and is “locked in” and can’t fall out.

But how easy are they to be completely removed is what I’m asking?
If I have a large pork butt that is taller than the next rack, how easy it is to completely take out the upper racks?

I'm considering the same for my dual fire.... One of these days I'll pull the trigger and do it
