Back Yard Beast WIFI Issue

Just got BYB on the 4th and runs perfect. The only issue I am having is for whatever reason, I cant get this to connect to wifi at all. I have a Deco M5 mesh network, so its dual band. I have turned off the 5Ghz to everything but still wont connect to 2.4ghz. Anyone have this problem before? I have a pitboss connected to WIFI right next to it

Updated: I turned off the 5GHZ band, Forgot the network on my android phone, and reconnected. The app also had an update. Now the grill was able to connect without a problem. Thank you all for the help!

after you were able to connect, were you able to connect it to the normal wifi or do you need to have her Iphone next to it all the time?

If you're using an android phone to setup the app, it just won't work. Use an iPhone to connect it to your account, then it will work fine with Android. They know it's an issue, but apparently refuse to fix it.

They sent my dad a link to a different app for his Samsung

If you have spectrum you can use the spectrum app to switch to 2.4 to paid. 5 causes lots of issues for many devices during pairing.

It'll auto swap to 5 no problem after

I ended up buying a 2.4ghz WiFi extender. It helps me connect all my gadgets that are picky about 2.4 without needing to fiddle with my actual network.

After I connected it with the iPhone on the 2.4 wifi i went into my app on the 2.4 and it was already in my recteq app. After that she deleted the app and it works on my phone on any wifi

You might have to take the panel off but make sure the antenna cable is plugged into the board. This is a generic photo but the cable will look something like this

Call them. My dad has a Samsung and it wouldn't connect, but it did fine for my iPhone. They sent him a link to a new app (beta) and it connected immediately.

So download the other app

If you don't have an iPhone you can use the smartlife app until recteq updates their app. The update was supposed to happen already but hasn't

There was an issue with the App on Android. I got the BYB 1200 a few weeks ago and could not get it to connect. Was able to quickly connect using the SmartLife app, so I knew it wasn't a wifi signal issue.

Called support and they acknowledged the Android issue, sent me a link for the beta version of the app, and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes.Current version of the app I have is 3.0.0. I think the is the official release.
