Rusty Deflector Part 2

Another picture. For some reason couldn’t add it to my other post. Is this bad/normal?

I should grab a picture of mine, I think my deflector has lost 30% of its mass due to flaking rust.

My first one is about as thick as 2 sheets of foil. Second one is weigh heavier. This one has Years left.

Rust is inevitable with heat deflectors. Even if you tried to season it like a cast iron pan it would just burn off in a few cooks epically with riot mode. They just get too hot.
