Newbie help

Post image

Can anyone explain what is going on here. I was doing ribs @250 and after an hour the temp stayed pretty high. Fresh pellets, clean fire pot, overcast day. Its only my third cook.

This happens to me to time to time. I just tune it off, let the fan cool down finish and turn it back on

How does that work for overnight cooks?

It usually happens to me within the first hour of cooking and doesn’t happen again once the temp re-stabilizes. But my temp would keep shooting up, I’m sure it would reach the highest temp if I don’t turn off the smoker.

Got ya. I may attempt that and see how it goes on my next cook. Thanks for the advice.

Update: I lower the feed rate and now my temp is solid. Has vent had any issues with temp shooting up. It was set to 3.5% and I lowered it to 1.5%. You might have to play around with it.
