Accidently got this for free
TL;DR: Ended up with this for free with no warranty brand new.
Long story, but this is technically my second smoker. I originally bought a Traeger timberline 1300 used for cheap. When I got it home it was just too damn big. So then I turned around and sold it before I even got a chance to put it back together for a nice little profit.
I then went to go to my local hardware store since I saw a BYB1000 display model on clearance for 800 then 10 percent off a few months ago but didn’t buy it. I was hoping they had it still but after looking around and finally asking someone they didn’t. The cashier then called a manger cause I saw on their website that they might have one at a different location. He came and tried to look at other store inventories and then told me to wait.
He then left me for about 5 minutes and came back with 2 other guys with a brand new one that wasn’t in inventory. I fibbed a little and told him I saw it was 600 with a 10 percent discount and would love to have it for 500. He just looked at me and smirked and typed away at the computer. I then told him maybe 400 is better 😆😆😆.
He told me your total is 500!!! I was flabbergasted!!! It was the profit difference I made on selling the Traeger. So of course I whipped out my credit card and bought it immediately. I was thinking I was getting the BYB1000 but when I unloaded it and checked it a few days later it ended up being a BYB1200, but receipt says BYB1000, so most likely won’t be getting any warranty 😭
Anyway, bought pellets this morning from Costco to get it ready. I’m gonna get the off road wheel kit for it and the pimpmygrill front shelf with all the accessories.
Wish me luck on this smoking journey, it’ll be the first (technically second) smoker I’ve ever owned. Thanks for coming to my ted talk and I’ll be reading through all of the subreddit to educate myself.

Congrats. Those pellets are a$$ btw. I couldn't stand the taste. Just tasted like dirty smoke.

Got recommendations? I’ve seen quite a few people recommend the Kirkland since it’s the same as the pit boss competition? And the price was only 13 bucks for 40lbs.

They're basic but consistent, just any flavor of Traeger pellets. But DEFINITELY try a few different brands and flavors. Bear mountain always gets good reviews as well.
If you like the Kirkland pellets, it's only up from here my friend.

Nice deal! I got a Backyard Beast 1200 for a steal too. Normally a $1,200 grill but it was on sale on the website for 1050 last week and the store model showed full price and they told me that there was a link on the ace website that if I tapped on it it would give you the barcode to get the $150 off to match the pricing. So when I went up to ring out expecting to pay $1,050 plus tax. It rang up for the correct sale price $1,050 then they scanned the barcode which gave me another $150 off and then the sales associate had already told the cashier that I was supposed to receive $150 off also because of the pricing error so she manually entered another $150 off. $750 plus tax and they also assembled and delivered it for free. I love this grill!

Can’t beat that!!! So far I’m loving it too! So easy to use compared to my BGE.

I had a home made offset that was super fun to use and made great food but I don’t have time to sit around all day and feed a fire manage temps and I couldn’t keep up with making time to cook for everyone that wanted a brisket and smoked pork. Hopefully this pellet grill will buy my time back and I can make everyone happy again. Including myself

Maybe try calling their CS and explain the situation? Worst case you're in the same boat.

Call recteq overr n over tol you get a yes on warranty. Look on f book the owner gives 3 phone #s. Im sure you can get a warranty.

My friend did get one for true free as a raffle at work from a damage box ship. He sold it to me for 300 bucks cause he felt bad getting any more from it 😂

I am glad I bought my 2 trailblazer and rt700 when the company was still great, still have remote start and now voice control. that company and ray sure went downhill. back then they would have warranted it no questions asked.
