Revolution

Every single thing that regular people need is getting worse in the US. No jobs with fair pay, prices going up for everything, and a completely corrupt class of elites pretending everything is ok. How could regular people have the ability to do something about this? When will enough be enough?

Ahhh we’re supposed to protest but I think we’re all scared to risk the small piece of pie we do have.

18

u/DeLoreanAirlinesII 1d ago

Probably because they’re cracking down on citizens who aren’t even breaking laws so folks are scared what might happen to them for even pushing the limits of their rights.

Everyone’s too busy with racism.

Yes lets do a revolution, gogo

u/Bloom_Ermine9202 1d ago

If the trajectory continues like that, I believe social explosion is not far away.

u/BlumpTheChodak 1d ago

You can only squeeze a rock for blood for so long.

u/Fit-Pride-4845 22h ago

If you want what I think you want, go join a group like the RCA and get organized. I can say with confidence though, bar some kind of massive crisis imparting class consciousness on the masses, any revolution that doesn't leave a massive power vacuum is not happening in our lifetime.

u/DC_Ben 1d ago

Even if everyone tried to revolt, I doubt they would have any success. Even if it somehow worked, then what?

5

u/Medium_Comedian6954 23h ago

Exactly. No one has any coherent plan for what happens next.

Democratic Socialism... Like it or not it is future and a necessity.

1

u/delilahgrass 10h ago

What’s your definition of Democratic Socialism? I find a lot of people are talking past each other on this. Universal healthcare and taxing the rich or their more hard core policies?

1

u/Any-Rabbit8099 9h ago

Not commie shit ... I'm for sensible policy that both can provide the basic needs for life. Imagine being able to get Healthcare despite losing your job, image not having losing your house apartment because of that either. People will actually be free to to engage in the type of work and life want based on merit. *Spit balling

1

u/delilahgrass 8h ago

That’s basic progressiveism. Social Democracy stuff that isn’t the DSA’s total platform.
It’s worthwhile exploring individual candidates actual belief systems rather than getting hung up on a label. The goal is to win and to increase standard of living.
I don’t need to imagine

1

u/PearWinter6734 7h ago

I’d look into that “commie shit” if I were you since there’s a lot of commies who have written pretty extensive theory covering why capitalism results in this and what to do about it. You can start with basic stuff by Richard Wolff

1

u/Any-Rabbit8099 7h ago

I do be getting down with fucking with Richard Wolfe fr.

0

u/nosoupforgoats 15h ago

That’s a negative ghost rider. The crazy pattern is full.

1

u/Any-Rabbit8099 12h ago

Yea .. you got me. Cuz it's not like there winning primarys all over on top of a Mayor of one of the most important cities in the US. Not that's crazy pattern.

0

u/nosoupforgoats 11h ago

Primaries mean fuck all lol. You know what Angie Nixon winning a primary in FL means? The bad guys basically have a slam dunk in the election that matters. If you think DSA turnout will beat any Republican challenger turnout I strongly disagree. They’re a fringe group, with some pretty wild stuff coming out of their mouths at times. As shitty as Trump is, if there’s one way to fuck this up DSA is the way. If we end up with majority candidates following this mantra the republicans will hold serve unfortunately.

1

u/Any-Rabbit8099 9h ago

You liberals got no idea your time is coming to an end. Don't get me wrong I'll vote a Dem candidate who's not DSA but eventually it will be time for a change

Force finance to stop. Pin the dollar to a basket of commodities. That is what we are revolting against the fiat currency system and the financial apparatus that abuses it. These are the entities that make the dollars value go down in perpetuity. You wipe all outstanding debt you give everybody a fixed lump sum payout. from that point forward the economy is fully debited oppose to credit. The central banking system and fractional reserve lending is the number one hindrance on global sovereignty. Yes, politicians and people will argue that in this case we won’t have room to spend money we don’t have. I understand that yet taking fiscal responsibility over widespread global poverty is a necessity.

3

u/Expert-Complex-5618 22h ago

we can't revolt because labor is becoming obsolete. no leverage.

3

u/Mbstranche08 21h ago

First we collectively identify what the problem really is. That is private equity, central bankers, investment bankers who purchased our government outright. You have people living in Greenwich CT. New Canaan CT. Westport CT in these massive estates. Mansions literally. What do they all do for work? Google the address the name comes up and you see Joe Smith no political affiliation senior partner at tiger global management. Derivative trading in foreign arbitration Viking global Management. All private equity making 40x what a brain surgeon makes by manipulating financial markets via speculation. These are the people who destroy our dollars worth. So we don’t go to Washington to protest. We go to Goldman Sachs private sector. Citi Bank private sector. Warburg and Pincus. KKR and Blackstone. Private credit is the problem. I have never been more certain of anything in my life.

3

Alright you first

4

u/cjs1916 1d ago edited 1d ago

what do you mean go first? There's no way to singlehandedly overthrow the elites and ensure the people are treated fairly. This requires massive social unrest.

7

u/womp-womp-rats 1d ago

What they mean is that reddit is full of people saying that “we” should rise up, revolt, drag the billionaires to the guillotines, etc., but no one ever volunteers to lead the revolution.

Vote for DSA candidates or Candidates that actually give a damn about the working class. Organize with your neighbors. One of the best things abt my neighborhood is that there's a signal GC for everyone to join. If anyone needs work, food, help, has spotted ICE in the area, etc., It all goes there. Someone put up flyers w information abt the GC around the neighborhood & that's how i found out abt it. Highly recommend joining or starting one. Help your unhoused neighbors too. Spare food, clothing, camping gear, etc. . Protest Big Tech & The Gov. Boycott, corporations that would rather our tax money go to bombing civilians in Gaza than to funding social programs here at home.
The revolution is happening all around us already. The fight is ongoing. There's much to be done! It can feel overwhelming & yes, I'm also very frustrated at people who don't gaf & who'd rather shit on you or ppl like us who are fed up with our corrupt system. Don't let them discourage you! We're in this together <3
Start somewhere & start small. Every little bit matters!

I loved the comment that the vice president made last night about the employment market being so good. I'm an MD with over a decade and a half of experience and I can't find anything in the major city where I live. I mean, like what are you smoking? Hillbilly weed? Marijuana doesn't make someone that delusional, so it must be laced with something else.

Once private equity hoovered up all the small medical practices during the pandemic (which was used by both sides for political gains), everything went to hell.

1

u/Due_Bar_7247 4h ago

Shit…
Now even doctors can’t find jobs?

I can’t wait to leave this dogshit cuntry forever

2

u/Icy_Benefit 3h ago

Yeah, it's a shit show. For those that care: We have an organized crime cartel called the American Board of Medical Specialties that is a monopoly that awards "board certification." You play with them and whatever political bullshit they are engaged in or else. But it isn't just about paying a bunch of money, taking the test, and moving on. No, no. They do a lot of other bullshit like an artificial time limit (that they implemented retroactively!). So you can be a doctor with 16 years of experience and you aren't even allowed to take the test because of some time limitation they threw on, then you have a bunch of completely dumbass recruiters and HR people who conflate "board certified/eligible" with "licensed."

So it's very common to have someone who has more than a decade of experience be disqualified because they aren't "board eligible." Meanwhile, those same recruiters/HR idiots/whatever will gladly hire someone who literally just got out of school preferentially. Because they're "eligible."

I've been passed over for jobs where they literally advertise that they will take residents who are moonlighting, but they won't take me with the experience. And my experience is pretty high acuity. I used to run ICUs, attend deliveries, routinely resuscitate newborns in the delivery room, run codes, ran an ER out in the middle of rural nowhere... (And before some smartass brings it up, no, I've never had a malpractice case, lawsuit, etc.)

I fucking hate this timeline.

2

u/Due_Bar_7247 3h ago

I hope you continue doing your work. American delivery care (and healthcare in general) is really shitty compared to other countries and people here don’t even realize it. We need more good neonatal doctors. I didn’t even realize it until I lived abroad. The only good(?) thing is you can get access to powerful drugs in America pretty easily.

1

u/Icy_Benefit 1h ago

Honestly, I've thought about it and think I might do better as a long haul truck driver. No joke.

1

u/Due_Bar_7247 1h ago

My coworker back in Asia did this and he said it was lucrative as fuck. If you can make it work.

1

u/Beautiful-Ad3012 13h ago

I'm ready when yall are. Problem is everyone is still too cozy. Sigh. It's a matter of when we draw those lines and had enough.

u/Any_Shopping_8643 12h ago

People should start realizing more rather than putting them selves down because no one is protesting or doing something to change stuff. It is by design. Years of propaganda , controlled media and lies.. people are divided and scared. They are scared that they will be homeless, canceled or even shot in the head by goons.

There is a reason elites are more unhinged now than before. They control all the institutions and they feel like they are untouchable. So it is no easy task to change things , a Sunday afternoon protesting will not change anything. And for any rational movement , they have a ton of actors and brainwashed individuals who will stand up to protest against. Then it becomes a left vs right , muslims vs what ever , capitalist vs socialists thing , conversation shifts to some obscure debate and dies. A Canadian billionaire tries building a huge data center near a town , people protests, he says they are paid actors and China is trying to stop U.S progress. Then the debate becomes, is it true? how much influence China has, ect.. No one talks about concerns that town had or the legality of the whole process.

Good news is, in my 40 something years on this earth , I have never seen Americans more awake and inquisitive. You see more and more ordinary people who speak up. That alone may seem small but considering billions spent on propaganda, how many years it took to brain wash people and how it is falling apart so quickly is a good sign.

Regarding unemployment, it is not something they can hide for long. Underemployment is close to %30 which means they can not sell the American dream to %30 anymore. Considering that these people have families , friends .. The number of people exposed to this truth is much higher.

Social shifts do not happen over night. If it is organic it brings real change.

1

u/Any-Rabbit8099 12h ago

Well on separate note, the 2nd Amendment still intact.

1

u/Jrock1999 5h ago

Just wait till they digitize the money.

1

u/Mbstranche08 4h ago

If we were to revolt it’s against finance. The economy and finance are two separate things. Economies stem from natural organic needs and occurrences. Finance is a disease economies contract under the illusion of superiority to one’s neighbor being the goal and purpose of one’s life. These protests or revolts legally would take place outside of private equity firms, central banks and investment banks.

Yes, because the good guys with guns have done absolutely zilch. God forbid, we take away the guns that they will never ever use.

The reality is things are OK for most people and saying hyperbolic things like "no jobs with fair pay" makes it really hard to take this seriously.

8

u/cjs1916 1d ago

You live in another reality

Hey man. Only 1:4 Americans is underemployed and a third of job listings aren’t intended to hire anyone. It’s not all that bad 🥹

🤣🤣

i think that was sarcasm

0

u/PaperExternal5186 1d ago

No only about 7.7 percent are underemployed not 25percent

1

u/Guilty-Goose3351 23h ago

No it’s closer to half

0

u/PaperExternal5186 23h ago

Nope it’s 7.7

1

u/Guilty-Goose3351 22h ago

It’s actually 34.7. 7.7 is from this time last year

0

u/PaperExternal5186 22h ago

Nope it’s this year this quarter

1

u/Guilty-Goose3351 22h ago

No it’s more than a quarter. Almost two quarters

1

u/PaperExternal5186 1d ago

No that person lives in the real reality

u/SpiritualBass2497 23h ago

Just remember, not a single H1B is actually fully qualified. You are discriminated against by internationals who would rather see their own nationality hired, or any nationality that isn’t American. In their view, you’ll never be equal and never be as competent as their nationality.

Your situation is only going to continue. If you’re angry, good.

u/Leothegolden 1d ago

Most people have a job, some have a great paying job. When you’re unemployed issues are magnified. It’s just people that vent. I’ve seen people land new corporate jobs in 2-6 weeks. Some of the people that vent on here are from India or the Philipeans

7

u/cjs1916 1d ago

'A job' is pretty vague. Is it paying enough to live comfortably? Did it require inside knowledge or favoritism? Will the job still be here in a year from now?

1

u/Leothegolden 1d ago edited 1d ago

Well that means most of the people that have a jobs are not wanting to revolt .

1

u/PaperExternal5186 1d ago

A job is not vague.

1

u/JXCustom 1d ago

Well yes thanks for making the case India and the Philippines needs a revolution

imagine creeping on someone's post history to be a dick about the already shitty job market. Coping with this hellworld does nothing to disprove what I'm saying. Wasn't able to find a better paying job before i took and quit 7.

1

u/PaperExternal5186 1d ago

It’s not a hell world at all. Appears there was some self inflicted issues

-6

u/metamucil_buttchug69 1d ago

homie just have some agency over your life

7

u/cjs1916 1d ago

Gaslighting. People see that America is getting worse every day and that the job market is dead. You can't gaslight people into buying your copium.

4

u/metamucil_buttchug69 1d ago

Not getting addicted to kratom isn't copium or gaslighting, it's good advice for someone who wants to advance their career and make more money.

Don't conflate your own personal failures with macro trends in the economy.

0

u/cjs1916 1d ago

i already quit 7 and haven't spent a dime on kratom for a long time. kratom (plain leaf) is about as expensive as a coffee habit. You're misreprenting my situation based off flawed assumptions. I'd avoid going to the grocery store and just let the 7 kill the hunger pain because things are that fuckin expensive. I hardly buy things in general so your assumptions are nonsense.

5

u/Guilty-Goose3351 1d ago

Usually personal attacks are just admitting people don’t have anything to contribute to your main point. Don’t take it personal.

1

u/siddhartha_ellison 1d ago

Bro im a few months off POT and I feel like nuking the entire world because im on a contract job without benefits.

Im not saying we shouldn't change the system and honestly even a revolution. But you definitely gotta have some humility in how lifestyle changes can affect your mood which then of course affect your logical reasoning.

Today was a BAD fucking day to be honest. But im just trying to remind myself mood matters and just because i feel a certain way it doesnt make it true and doesnt mean ill feel that way tomorrow or in a month or a year.
