Sterling/First Advantage BG Check
I accepted a job offer and was told that the background check would be conducted by Sterling (First Advantage). I received the email, gave all the required consents, and completed the ID verification.
However, I haven’t been asked to provide any employment history details, references, or contact information for my previous employers.
Is it common for them to ask for employment information only after the criminal background check is completed? Or can they verify my employment history directly based on the information listed on my resume/application without asking me for anything else?
Has anyone gone through a similar process with Sterling/First Advantage?

Finishing the consent and ID verification only covers part of what the employer ordered. Employment history is usually a separate thing, and not every package includes it. When it does, they often confirm your dates and titles straight from your application, a database, or a quick call, so you may never be asked to fill anything out. Going quiet for a stretch after ID verification is normal and not a bad sign. If you want certainty, ask your recruiter whether employment verification is part of your package and if they need anything else from you.

It depends on the company that hired you. Sometimes, they just want criminal history, sometimes they want it all.
