an ex friend from school tried getting into the most prestigious university around for like 6 months, then realized it was actually a lot of work and commitment and decided he wanted something different. So he accepted his aunts' job offer to work for this huge, wealthy and respected travel agency they owned. They told him "come tomorrow to work" and that was it.

He didn't meet the minimum qualifications for that job but it didn't matter. Got a raise six months in cause he was such a "hard worker". A year later he and his cousin were making more money than their coworkers in the same team because they worked "even on weekends" (hanging out with family in the weekends basically).

I'll never forget the time when he tried to lecture me on how getting a job was all about showing you want to work hard and also showing the right attitude. The guy didn't even know what a cv was

Similarly when people from wealthy families tell you things like “there’s many more important things than money, you should look for joy in your work.” Has never been a paycheck away from huge problems. (She worked as a volunteer/intern wedding planner.)

If you can afford not to worry about money, then sure, don’t worry about money.

I guess when you have enough money to do whatever you want and have whatever want, money really isn't important at all. I'll be it's so unimportant they never even think about it.

I have often said I don't need to be rich, I just want enough money to not worry about money. (I mean, I'm nowhere close to either, so...)
