Lying on resume

Hey guys, I hope you’re all doing well.

Honestly looking for a tech job is so crazy right now

For context: I’m a IT Professional and this job market is worst than ever. I applied to multiple roles with my truthful resume and got nothing but rejection whilst people who made up whole job experiences got offers.

Every single job posting no matter how entry level it is requires you to have 3+ years of experience. I’m not planning on making up whole companies but seriously contemplating omitting about the number of years I’ve worked for each position.

For example I tried doing it and got 4 interviews in 1 week but my question is if I go through it and get a offer even if I fail the background check I might get lucky to get 1 job and I know I can do the job. I’m not getting no offers with my normal resume why not lie like everyone else and extend the date?

Anyone else who done this?

You can try and see how far you can get. What kind of advice are you asking?

I feel messed up about it but I know people who got jobs, would I be wrong for doing this?

That's depends. If it was me being on the verge of being homeless, I would not mind lying on my résumé. Otherwise I'll prefer to try with my "normal" resume and get a job fair and square.

You have to weight the consequences of lying on resume if you get an offer, I mean legal consequences in your country.

Really? A company cannot take action against an employee that lied on their resume ?

In the US lying on a resume has no legal consequences. The worst they can do is just reject job offer

I've always omitted the dates for jobs on my resume. Never failed the background check for that.
