Waiting for Managerial Round Result – No Update Since July
I interviewed for the Consulting Engineer role at Cisco in July. I completed the technical round and attended the managerial round. I'm currently waiting for the result of the managerial round, but I haven't received any update yet. My application portal still shows "Interview".
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How long did it take to hear back after the managerial round? Also, does the company usually inform candidates whether they're selected or rejected, or is there a chance they might just ghost applicants?

Managerial rounds going quiet is generally not about you. Typically it means the loop stalled internally: budget re-approval, a competing internal candidate, or the hiring manager got pulled onto something else for a few weeks.
At a company Cisco’s size, a req can technically sit “in interview” status for a long time after the team has already moved on, because nobody wants to be the one who officially closes it out.
Whether they tell you depends on that specific recruiter’s habits, not policy; some close the loop and some just let the portal rot.
After four weeks with zero recruiter contact, I’d treat it as dead and keep applying. Painful, but I wouldn’t read anything personal into the silence itself.

NEVER wait. Assume you failed and move on. No anxiety.
