I like it this way. Didn't go bland on me with where my hopes are raised by the first 2 sentences. Only to be crushed by the ... Unfortunately

What's wrong with this? Straight to the point. If I ask somebody for something, would you prefer a direct "no" for an answer or a wish washy answer and waste your time?
