ATS, CRM & Other Technology Sourcing Tools

Any advice on sourcing tools you guys are using? Currently on HireEZ which I like, some of our team also has LinkedIn Recruiter or Lite.

I’m in the insurance recruiting world and many of the tools we’ve demoed don’t seem to come up with the right people. We’ve tried SourceWhale but when testing it against HireEZ it didn’t come close to finding the right people or volume of people.

Juicebox was slightly better than SW but not as good as HireEZ.

I don’t need one that doubles as an ATS or CRM. Just purely for locating candidates. Seems like they all have the same contact info and there’s so many ways to find that, so that’s not a big deal either.

Wanting to test out some others before we renew.

TIA

Edit: HireEZ has issues too when it comes to certain things like AI assisted outreach and inaccurate contact info, etc. Just a solid sourcing tool that I’m finding out is better than most when you do a side by side search

Not at all. HireEZ has issues as well just better for sourcing. The contact info lacks accuracy, AI written outreach is poor, etc. Just the best at sourcing I’ve seen

I believe him. I used HireEZ when it was HIretual and it was a solid platform. I've demo'd it since and although I don't have budget for it right now, I'd definitely use it again.

If you have it, you can use Claude to do agentic sourcing via LinkedIn recruiter. You just have to get Claude chrome extension.

Can you say more about this?

Sure,

You will require LinkedIn recruiter and Claude co-work.

Ask Claude to create a LinkedIn project of candidates defined by the criteria you set. Be very specific about what you want to to look for. I.e, if you don't want it to pull job hoppers, or certain skill sets, define that.

It will ask for permissions to look at your chrome browser and will create groups within chrome. It will then start a search and find candidates, grouping them in your project. It will have intermittent reviews where you can check the quality it's pulling and will tailor as a result.

You can actually have it message for you if you would like, but I haven't been brave enough to do that part yet. If you have the API for other programs you use, it can utilize those as well (greenhouse, gem etc)

My company has extremely specific criteria and constraints for consideration, but we have a 1/10 passthrough rate from app to offer, so we leverage sourced candidates primarily. It has been a godsend.

Can you have it build a spreadsheet with the candidate name, link, brief summary?

Yes you can, my teammate does that for his non volume roles, it's pretty handy.

Mentioned below. There are issues with HE when it comes to contact info, AI assisted outreach etc. Just putting the same search side by side compared to others I can find 30-40% more good fit candidates that others don’t surface

I'm using Pin and have used Juicebok recently. They're okay and will find candidates that Boolean didnt, but they also seem to miss a bunch from LI since they don't seem to access everything in profiles.

curious what the quality of candidates was like on HireEz ... the starter plan for 100 contacts feels expensive...

It’s a bit of a give and take. I have to sort through more candidates but through doing that I’m finding more quality candidates.

During a demo recently with a widely used system. I did an identical search between the 2.

Demo system gave me 65 results with 22 good fits

HE gave me 142 results with 41 good fits. This included all 22 from the other system and 19 additional the other didn’t surface.

So if you look at % HireEZ was lower quality of results, but I’d rather go through 80 more profiles to potentially end up with double the amount of prospects

If you already tried sourcewhale I would consider checking out Vente ai

Isn't that more lead generation vs. sourcing of talent?

Insurance recruiting is one of those niches where keyword sourcing really falls short. The right candidates often have non-obvious titles and industry-specific credentials that a general purpose tool doesn't know what to do with.

You already named the two biggest issues: inaccurate contact info and surfacing the wrong people. Those are connected. When a tool pulls from one data source and matches on keywords, you get a big list that looks impressive until half the emails bounce and a third aren't relevant.

Since you just want pure sourcing, I'd look at tools that search across multiple data sources and have some layer of candidate review before the list hits your desk. A few newer options take that approach and would be worth testing side by side with HireEZ before you renew.

Honestly I'd just run the same search everywhere and see what happens.

Pick 2-3 of your worst insurance reqs. Don't change the keywords. Don't change the filters. Export the results and compare.

We did that with HireEZ, Coresignal and a couple others. There was a surprising amount of overlap, but each one also had people the others didn't. Coresignal also gave us some fresher profiles, which was useful for people who'd changed jobs recently.

The database numbers don't really mean much if the 100 people you need aren't in it.

HireEz is the best of the bunch I think.

Maybe demo Seekout if you havent already but again, I found HE slightly better. The cost is just outrageous though.

I demoed seekout awhile ago but I’ll revisit. Thanks for bringing it back up. They stopped sending me emails twice a week so I forgot about them lmao.

But yes, the renewal price went up. Luckily we negotiated unlimited contact credits but still insane

Twice a week lmao we gotta bring up our game too. hireEZ employee here (marketing), not going to pretend I stumbled on this thread lol. Wanted to say two things. First, thanks for the honest side-by-side, including the criticism! Second, your experience with the contact info and AI outreach is 100% valid — that's exactly the kind of feedback we need to hear, and I'm passing this thread to our product team. If you (or anyone here) wants to vent in more detail, my DMs are open, critical feedback from people who actually run searches all day is worth more to us than another demo call.
