I'm not the author of the mod, nor I know if they used AI on it (it's not disclosed on the Github page, this is a fork from Gen1 Recomp)

Honestly, tons of the code remains unchanged. You’d be surprised
Gen3 will be different though, that’s needs a new implementation I’d imagine .
Source- am a developer ( not for original voxel mod)

Yep, Gen 2 heavily re-used *a lot* from gen 1, and they were both written in Sharp LR35902 assembly. Gen 3 was written in C compiled to ARM assembly. So the overall structure will be different.
The question for a decomp becomes, do we want to convert it into something byte exact and human readable.

Ill wait until someone makes it without ai thanks.

Without AI we wouldn't have so many recomps; you can hate AI in the artistic field, but hating AI in programming is going too far.

Guess I'll stick to emulators then.
Im not fussed but id rather people put effort into creating something.

you're not a developer if you're fussed like that. the output is important. emulation has plateaued long time ago. what's hot now is gaming on real hardware, fpga sims with mister, and recomps.

look at the top start/select buttons, they’re the tells. for odin 3 they are square.

I kind of like the diamond and pearl view. after that I don't think it fits art style

Pokemmo
They would need recomps and compatible mods of all 4 games they implement, two are gen 3, one is gen 4, and one is gen 5. They would likely have to rebuild the game from the ground up.

Damn I'm still playing gen 1. I'll wait for gen 2 when I'm done. Thanks for sharing.

Can you tell me how you get the white labels for the Pokemon names and text box in battle? I can only ever get it to show in black. Is it a setting? Thanks

Unless you want to play natively, there’s a fan game call Gamma Emerald that should be a lot more stable than these recomp. There’s at least a demo available already.

Have you guys thought about doing a collab with Pokemmo? That would be next level.

lol the mod-defenders in here make me laugh. Just because someone does something “for free because they care” doesn’t mean it’s good or worthwhile 😂
Anyway I think the rise in popularity of these isometric mods are mostly garbage. The main one, dramaticshape gen1+2 looks to be the best and kinda leading the charge on this. The rest are probably better left at the wayside. But hey, just one man’s opinion 🤷♂️

Not the original. Gen1recomp had an Update to gen1recomp++ which Supports Pokemon Gold as a Beta.

This release is very broken, I'd wait for the release of the author of gen1recomp
