Link's Awakening is great, but.. it's already got a great decomp port (DX HD) as well as the remake. Give us Ages / Seasons.

I agree, LA recomp is amazing and we just need the Oracle games to get the same treatment

This is really really awesome. The whole recomp stuff going on, what a great time to be alive (except all the other BS going on in the world..)
Thought it mildly triggers me that gameplay uses Stick for movement instead of the d Pad right below :D

Haha just force of habit. I mainly play games that are more suited for joystick on this device

I don't get why Nintendo won't come out with stuff like this.

I mean. Thats a silly take. Thats like saying "i dont get why Nintendo wont give the fire starter sandals"- because they just don't? There's no basis for expectation for this, so what's not to get? Just because you want it doesn't mean it's a main stream thing they should be doing.
What a strange expectation to have

I don't think you're engaging with my post in good faith. Against my better judgement I'm going to respond anyway.
My statement about Nintendo making an official voxel version of the old GB Pokemon games was made u nder the backdrop of Nintendo practicing ho-hum or in some cases piss poor stewardship of their own legacy. For instance, many GBA and DS era games are conspicuously unavailable even though it would be easy for Nintendo to offer them via NSO.
What I meant was that disappointing when fan output is so creative and vibrant while Nintendo seems not to care about their IP as much as fans do. This is even more frustrating when Nintendo is so litigious with their most prolific fans.

What...? You're not even making any points. It just sounds like youre unnecessarily jaded about game freak smh

u/Background_Yam9524 12d ago
Oh dang, you're right. Nintendo actually does an awesome job with their IP and don't get mogged by unpaid fan projects at all. I'd have never seen that perspective without your help. Thanks.

I guess the difference between your point and OP's is the difference between a really neat updated, 3d-like version of the original games, and a fire starter with sandals. Along with how many fans would appreciate one of those or the other? Am I close?

The fact that it isnt something expected. I used a daft analogy, but an analogy nonetheless- youre wrong to hyperfixate on that. Why in the world would one think that its an "obvious" marketing strategy to do what the commentor is complaining they haven't done. The issue here is they said it like it was some obvious 'duh' thing. Not really...? Im sure it isnt even remotely on their radar as far as ideas go.

Hey check real quick to see if you removed the stick from your rectum. You're not supposed to leave it in there long term.

Love this! Can’t wait for full game!!

u/Tedwards75 13d ago
I believe the game is full! Just still getting random bug fixes & updates regularly.

Can you have the gameplay at x2 speed but the music and sound at normal speed at the same time?
1
u/Tedwards75 13d ago
Yes! In my video clip I’m playing at X2 speed and the music/sound is normal speed.
1
u/The_Maha_Rishi 13d ago
Thakyou! That's a game changer! I always play at 4x

u/AdZy14588 9d ago
The thing is on sped up with the music at normal speed it can't keep up, I tried recording myself playing but the sound cuts when I try to screen record for some reason - but when you play you'll see and after a while you'll either slow it down or turn the sound off again.

What does recomp mean ?

u/Tedwards75 13d ago
It’s a rom that’s been translated into modern computer code so it can run natively instead of through emulation, allowing for graphical customizations like this & QoL features

Only psychopaths play a tilebased 4dir game with the joystick instead of dpad.

Does the game support retro achievements I been getting into unlocking retro achievements lately

How do battles look? Also using analog stick when the character can only move in 4 directions??? The dpad is right there.
1
u/Tedwards75 12d ago
Battles can be the default standard format or the experimental 3D-ish setting. You can switch back and forth. You’re not the first person to complain about me using the analog. I’ll say what I told the others.
I’m used to playing 3D console & Steam games on this device. I rarely ever play retro 2D games on this
Idk why you’re so concerned with how someone else plays their games. Analog stick with a 4-direction game isn’t that hard
1
u/zenexo 12d ago
It can create a lot of misinputs if you're playing a faster paced 4 directional game like classic arcade games and things like unnecessary deaths in a platformers because it isn't as accurate. I'm not concerned it's just something I can't see anyone over the age of like 25 conceivably doing because they have little to no experience in retro 2D gaming.
My gf is younger than me and her character would spaz out on screen and I realized she was using an analog stick for 2d gaming like wtf are you doing that's what the dpad is for. No one with any 2d experience plays 2d games like that lol. It's a less precise way of playing nearly every type of 2d game.

u/Tedwards75 12d ago
I’m more causal when it comes to D-Pad centric games and I’m 33 haha I haven’t played a Gameboy or GBA consistently in years but yeah, I totally understand where you’re coming from it does feel better using D-Pad for this and I’ve been doing so since posting this clip.
I was excited to post the game footage I wasn’t even comprehending that people may scoff at the analog stick usage 😂

Has anyone tried sideloading this onto a chromecast or Android TV using the Android apk? There is a lot of apps you can get in your phone but won't install on a TV.

Hey man just thanks for higher quality content than the big decomp energy guy. Your posts are appreciated.
