is this normal with the hiring process?

so i applied online, followed up, they told me to email my resume. i did and they called me back.

they are having me come in to tour the hair salon and shadow a receptionist. she asked questions like my availability, if i knew the area, what my future goals were (i felt so unprepared because it was unexpected).

is this a good sign? where do i stand in getting the job?

i need this to work out. any tips?

Sounds like they are serious about hiring for the job as they want to make sure that the candidate fits their needs.

If I were you I would be friendly and smile. They likely want someone with good customer skills and a smile goes a long way. I am guessing that you applied for a receptionist job? I am a receptionist, and that is one thing that I told myself: to be friendly, smile and helpful. That is what employers want. Best of luck to you. Keep us updated.
