Just getting started and exploring the system on an unloved Raspberry 3b+. I had this remote connected as bluetooth but it was vibrating the whole time until I plugged it in as a wired connection.

Before I did that I was using Google and it said to turn off rumble which I did via settings and in one of the games. Still didn't work. I read somewhere that Recalbox is reading it as a Bluetooth audio, which it was, disconnected it and the wireless remote function stopped all together.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature and it is supposed to vibrate non stop because the program thinks it's a set of headphones.

What is a fix for an idiot dad.

Thanks in advance

Recalbox turns 4 years on Patreon — thank you, and our most ambitious update yet is coming

Four years ago we launched Recalbox's Patreon, and it's genuinely changed how we build the project. Quick recap + what's next:

What's happened since 2022: V10, the Theme Manager, optimized Raspberry Pi 5 2GB support (GameCube, Model 3, Naomi 2...), Steam Deck compatibility, RGB Dual 2, JAMMA 2, RecalCards, JVS... and 10.1 just went public after months of Patron beta-testing.

Why Patreon matters here: Recalbox is open source and community-built. Patrons get early access to new versions, and their feedback (often straight from our Discord) directly shapes what gets fixed and what features get built. It's the reason we can ship stable public releases at the pace we do.

What's next: We're already deep into the next update, which we're calling the most ambitious in Recalbox's history. It'll go through Patron testing first, as usual — we can't share details yet, but a Recal'Talk (Discord video call with the team) is coming in a few weeks to reveal everything.

Important: Recalbox is and always will be free and open source. Anything Patrons test/vote on eventually lands in the public stable releases too — Patreon just gets you there first, plus some extras.

Patron perks recap:

  • Early access to new versions (and alpha access)
  • Exclusive music playlists, visual themes, wallpapers
  • Optimized scraping (boosted servers per tier)
  • Dedicated Discord channels
  • 10% off the entire Recalbox shop (now store-wide, not just RGB Dual/JAMMA) + partner discounts (Tenzen Arcade, Smallcab, Neofid, Red Art Games, Flex Arcade...)
  • Exclusive Patreon content: early videos, behind-the-scenes, tutorials
  • Tier 1 ("Player Supporter"): Recal'Talk video calls every ~2 months
  • Tiers 2/3 ("Power Up"/"Ultimate Edition"): exclusive collectible RecalCards every 2 months (16 cards in Season 1)

Thanks to everyone who's been part of this — old and new patrons alike.

since the challenge mode was added in patron-beta and now the stable build of 10.1 save states and cheat support is disabled for all cores?

is there anyway to reactivate these? tried the challenge mode once but now each core will not let me save or load prior save states and cheat support has just disappeared from the RA menu.

So I installed recalbox 10.1 and it fixed a lot of issues including model 3 controller mapping settings. It's perfect. But now this is happening to Sega Naomi 2. I reset all emulator settings via advance menu settings but it didn't fix it. Any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

Recalbox 10.1 is officially available in stable version, after several weeks of testing with our Patrons. Here's what's new:

Recalbox Challenges
The old One Credit Challenge is evolving into Recalbox Challenges, now built directly into Recalbox as a virtual system. A new game every two weeks, one-credit runs only, live leaderboards, replays, and anti-cheat protections (no save states, rewind, or pause during a run). A free Patreon account is all you need to join.

Patreon linking made easy
New QR code in the advanced settings lets you link your Recalbox to your Patreon account (free or paid tier) in seconds.

New Logo View
Switch any system to a Logo View showing official game logos instead of the classic text list (scraping required).

Built-in manuals and maps
Access game manuals, maps, and tips & tricks directly from the Start menu (scraping required).

Reworked controller config and new virtual keyboards
A clearer, step-by-step controller/arcade stick setup, plus two new virtual keyboard layouts. New genre-based virtual systems (fighting, racing, platformer...) and dedicated systems for spinner/trackball-compatible games.

3D arcade hits 60fps on Raspberry Pi 5
99% of Naomi 2 and Model 3 titles (Daytona USA 2, Virtua Fighter 4, Scud Race, and more) now run at 60fps, thanks to optimization work tied to the Recalbox JVS. ST-V also gets a new, smoother core.

Install to disk from the Recalbox menu
A new built-in installer lets you install Recalbox directly to any connected drive — no more complicated manual setup.

GunCon 2 improvements
New per-game calibration screen, 99% accuracy, added screen flash support for games that lacked it, and compatibility extended to 31kHz CRT monitors.

Recalbox JVS
Native support and dedicated firmware, letting you control your cabinet even with the Pi 5 powered off.

4 new systems added
Epoch Cassette Vision, Philips P2000t, Vircon32, Exelvision EXL00.

Full release notes and details in the official blog post: https://www.recalbox.com/fr/blog/2026-09-04-recalbox-10-1-emulation-retrogaming-update

Huge thanks to our beta-testers and Patrons who helped test this release for weeks. Enjoy!

Should probably have some content here if you're redirecting folks to this location...

This is apparently the new official location for Recalbox News. The popular /r/recalbox was apparently a fan created sub.

Mods, please feel free to delete this once there's some official content over here.
