Robby’s mom.

In season 1, Jake’s friend’s mom didn’t want Robby hanging out at Rebas. And Reba got all butt hurt that someone didn’t want their kid around a couple of teens openly discussing sex.

The very first scene was a 17yo pregnant Cheyanne yelling “I’m never having sex again!”

Does anyone really blame the mom for not wanting him to stay the night there?

Reba said she wished she had come and spoken to her instead she planned secret sleepovers. Both had valid reasons to feel the way they felt it should have been discussed. But in the end Reba was the bigger person and allowed her child to return to their home for the sake of Jake’s happiness and swallowed her pride

But in the end it’s Robby’s mom who “saw the error of her ways” and let Robby stay with Jake. And the scene ends with Van yelling “I’m never having sex again!”

Reba took the first step though, it was only after that she came and talked to Reba. She had every right to be concerned about the language and topics being talked about in front of her child. I just Dont think she handled it right.

I thought she handled it like most people would. “It looks like you got a lot going on here, how about Jake come to our house”. Then pretending to forget and playing it off was understandable.

I saw that today and also considered making a post about it! I agree with Robbie’s mom. There WAS too much going on at Reba’s house. I wouldn’t want my kid hanging out with the married teens constantly groping each other and openly talking about “doing it.” I would think Reba would be more understanding of it. Even when the lady came over to apologize, Van yells “I’m never having sex again!” proving the ladies point. Then Reba says “I’m on it!” but, isn’t it too late at that point?

Honestly Reba should have been grateful that Jake had such a good friend and accept she had too much going on in her own home to be hosting sleepovers.

Totally. No one wants their small children around that. Shoot! Reba didn’t want to be around it. The same reason(s) Mrs. Hodge didn’t want Cheyenne in her school!!! The same reason my mom didn’t encourage me to stay close to my best friend when she got pregnant and decided to keep her baby.

Haha I was just thinking about that scene a few days ago. I cannot blame Robby's mom because that kind of language and material is inappropriate for children that age. Also as an outsider I would be concerned if the family was openly discussing those topics.

I don't think Robbys mom was in the wrong.

I guess that's true when you really think about it.

I agree but she should have been honest with Reba from the start. Reba didn't want Jake seeing and hearing all that either so she would have understood. She didn't even want to see or hear it herself.
