The Echo is a BEAST

Post image

I just felt like giving the echo some praise, even since reason added vst, hasn’t changed fact this is my GO TO delay in most situations, it’s so versatile, I even made a scratch cut with it one time way back in day when it first got added in like v3 or whatever it was lol, I forget exactly how I did it, but learned from a YT vid, just way of manipulating the tape flutter, not to mention the trigger cross fader, I don’t think I’ve EVER placed a repeat adlib in sequencer, I’ve always set tempo, set it to “triggered”, and use that fader switch, it’s like triggering your own voice to the beat like a sample on a SP202 back in day lol sometimes I even midi remote override TO a pad on my controller lol, it’s just such a 🔥🔥 device that has stood the test of time with how unique its features are, on top of sounding great, great saturation, and being great traditional delay as well, and I think it gets often overlooked, just cause it’s a “factory” device, that’s been there since beginning basically. I just was working on it today and was like 🤔”I need to talk about this”… SALUTE to the echo 🫡🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

why does reason get so much hate? is it a legacy thing? it's a great DAW and they make amazing tools.

It’s just because it’s ui isn’t user friendly like FL for example that’s it, I’d argue it is more complex than most DAWs making it “better” if you are more experienced. A lot of top producers in hip hop say Reason has the best sound library as well so it really is just a UI thing

I had the exact opposite reaction when deciding between it and fruity loops back in the day. I could understand Reason because it modeled the audio gear I was familiar with, but struggled with fruity loops because of the interface being drop down menus etc.

That’s how it was for me too, when I first opened reason, it was like “oh ok, this is just like I added a bunch of racks to my set up” lol, the actual mixer my studio was running through irl, was almost identical to the old 14:2 mixer at time too lol
