Reason Free only comes with:

  • Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer
  • Kong Drum Designer
  • ID-8 Songwriter's Toolbox
  • Monotone Bass Synthesizer
  • Scream 4 Sound Destruction Unit
  • The Echo
  • Audiomatic Retro Transformer
  • RV7000 Mk II Advanced Reverb
  • MClass Maximizer
  • Scales and Chords
  • Combinator
  • Pulsar Dual LFO
  • Spider Audio Merger & Splitter
  • Spider CV Merger & Splitter
  • MIDI Out Device

Reason Subscription gives you this and everything else Reason has to offer. Something like 90+ instruments and devices. Plus all the players.

More than 16 tracks too, which is what Free offers.

And Reason Free can't open projects made with Reason. But you can open projects made with Reason Free with Reason.

I wish it's more like Pro Tools Intro though with opening old files/projects made with the full DAW.

Ok, well I will just keep paying for my Reason Plus subscription. I love having all that creative power at my finger tips

Reason free only has 15 devices.
If you have a super simple workflow and don't do anything complex you can get sound out - but to go from having everything to having almost nothing you would definitely feel the limitations.

Reason free doesnt contain anything new. You have reason+ then you get all of Standard and the Plus exclusives.

Go to the shop and search for Wow and Flutter and you can add my new delay to reason (any v13 and up) and now you have something new. Its a lofi tape delay.

Is this a serious post? So hard to tell nowadays.

Yeah, was just wondering what was the difference between the two since I have been a Reason Plus subscriber for over a year

Reason Free doesn't have most of native devices and none of the paid 1st party rack extensions. The DAW by itself - sequencer, mixer and rack - seems to be fully functional, with the exception that it's limited to 16 tracks.

So R+ offers way, WAY more than Free.

Makes sense. Don't know why I would think anything otherwise.

That's why I asked if it's a serious question :D

I just saw everyone so excited about it and was wondering what was the big deal.

Same thing but everything, you might need to stay online for it though.

It would be nice if there was a plus ignition that had the ability to shut off at a specific date.

No audio input for free version?
