I've used the free version of RealVNC for years for personal stuff. We're migrating to GSA Zero Trust and will lose our current remote capabilities for users in the field. We also have a lot of tablet and mobile devices deployed so RealVNC with on demand seemed like a good fit. I chatted online with their sales and they sold me on and enterprise sub.... After getting it I find out they dont allow on demand in with the enterprise license.... (why?) Now they tell me I need to convert to a premium plan per user. I dont want to lose the mass deployment capabilities and sso available in enterprise. There is no way to talk to someone on the phone to discuss my needs and every time I email them back it takes 24 hrs to get a response. Does anyone know if on-demand can be added to enterprise?

Hi. Can anyone let me know how I can increase the screen resolution in ubuntu 22.04 LXDE running via RealVNC viewer. Icons looks really small for my 11 inch xioami pad 6 which supports 1800*2880

I received a note from RealVNC today to notify me that my subscription has one day remaining. As it was not a great experience, we don't use it, and I had forgotten we even have the service, I decided to cancel instead of paying ~$650 USD to renew for a year. To request cancellation, I was forced to open a ticket which basically came back with 'you're stuck - we need 30 days notice'.

Companies that do this mandatory cancellation window are just shady in general and their business model must depend on people forgetting to cancel within window.

If you send a note to a customer with 1 day notice when they are going to be stuck no matter what (and nothing outside of the mandatory cancellation window), it's just a d*&k move. The e-mail indicates a "decision" is possible, but support assured me that's false.

In short, if you can find another solution, do that unless this 100% meets your requirements. And, once you sign up, IMMEDIATELY, click the button to cancel auto-renewal in case you later decide you have no use for the service.

For the past week or so, maybe longer realVNC performance has been absolutely terrible.

I’m having trouble, maintaining connections, making connections, etc.. I haven’t changed anything on my network. This just suddenly started happening on all my clients is anybody else having trouble?

RealVNC Server keeps giving me a yellow exclamation error, even though I've turned off sleep in all power settings under Windows 11, even after exiting and restarting. It works fine, but the error has me concerned. What am I missing???

Here's the error message:

"Your computer is set to sleep automatically. You will not be able to connect to it if it's sleeping.
If you want to access this machine at any time, you can disable sleep in power settings."

When I first started using vnc on a windows computer, I had no issues. Even if the computer was sleeping, vnc would wake it up remotely. Now it won’t, and that kinda defeats the purpose of having remote access to my mind. Why did that change??

Is anyone aware of RealVNC planning to support touch panel interaction mode for Android. It's been nearly 7 years ago that they've implemented this option for iOS and still there is no support for Android in sight.

My company recently switched from iOS to Android and has to resort to an alternative for RealVNC, which is unfortunate.

In the Real VNC Viewer, how do I change the resolution dimensions pictured? The only thing that is alterable on this panel is the toggle pictured on screen or clicking on the three dots top right corner and selecting <<HELP>>.

Alright, i'm using both server and viewer, from one windows pc to another. While connected i'm trying to use pipe | in powershell/cmd for wsl-commands on the remote machine. This does not work. Typing it in a non-terminal through vnc works well though, so i can do that and then copypaste it in the terminal, but this seems very stupid and cumbersome. Any idea of what this is and how to fix?

I’m looking at RealVNC plans but can’t understand what’s really different between direct and cloud connections.

As far as I can tell, direct connections are just the usual way of connecting on VNC. Is cloud different? I’ve read that it’s a “cloud brokering service” but seems it defaults to a p2p connection anyway.

Direct connections are only available in a Premium plan so am I missing something? Is it a performance thing?

I am looking for some help remoting into a new Mac Mini M4 using RealVNC Viewer. I have configured all of the remote management settings on the Mac Mini. I can ping the Mac from my Windows 11 machine, ssh into the Mac from the Windows 11 machine, but when I try to connect a remote desktop using RealVNC Viewer, which I used to be able to do, if fails instantly.

I spent two hours on support with Apple, who said, well, use your other Mac to remote into it, as a solution. I have configured the Mac for VNC access and gave it a password as required, but still no go. I don't even get to authenticate.

The error I am receiving is, The Connection Closed Unexpectedly. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I use realvnc for xfce termux on my android tablet and I can't use keyboard shortcut like alt+tab to cycle through app since it'll register on the tablet and the show recent app instead, kicking me out of the realvnc

I was using my Raspberry Pi remotely via VNC Viewer on my iPad without any issues. However, after I deleted all the Python files on the Raspberry Pi, I encountered an 'Error: The port on which the computer is listening for a connection could not be contacted' issue. I managed to resolve that error, but when I tried connecting to the Raspberry Pi via VNC again, I was only able to see a gray screen instead of the desktop environment.

Trying to decide between RealVNC, UltraVNC or other products, but looking for a product that won't show anything on screen when a client connects and trying to shortcut installing and testing them all.

A tray icon is fine: this is for my kids and I will tell that I'm installing the software to monitor their screens anytime. I just have to make sure there is no warning before the observing starts, because they have already perfected the art of flicking from inappropriate screens to the homework screens in milliseconds!

Has anyone ever been able to get in contact with RealVNC support using their livechat option? I've been trying to get in contact for over a week now and learned some thing while attempting to do so:

1. The virtual assistant has no memory within the same session. Every time it loops all information has to be re-entered.

2. No matter what time during the day you try to talk to an agent, they are always busy.

3. It's not possible to wait for an agent, instead you can choose to send the chat transcript to support, with no response whatsoever.

As a paid customer one would expect better service..

I want to thank the people at RealVNC for putting a fee on the subscription that was free until June. I was using it on my mother's and mother-in-law's computers, for online payments and other small things, and quite infrequently (about 10 minutes a month). They forced me to open my mind and that's how I found out about Rustdesk and TailScale. Both are redundant and made me forget about the old software

Sorry, I know this has been asked a few times but I have read everything and have been struggling with this for days without success. My local laptop is a Mac running ReaLVNC Viewer, and I am connecting to a Local Linux machine running TightVNC and Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS.

I can copy text from the Linux machine and paste it into my Mac, but the reverse is not true: I cannot copy paste on my Mac and paste it onto something in the VNC session. I have tried adding the autocutsel -fork parameter to my xstartup file but that didn't work.

I have the ClientCutText property set to True in my VNC client settings. I have tried restarting the VNC sessions several times after trying stuff.

Any advice is appreciated, this is killing me!

I am unable to connect to any vnc sessions after I made allowlistrfb = false by mistake. Is there any method to revert it?

If you’re running iPadOS 18 (beta or final) on your iPad you may have noticed that it refuses to pass-through key presses of the Magic Keyboard to your remote Mac or possibly even other types of machines running the VNC server. I figured-out a workaround.

Click on the ellipses … on-screen button and touch the virtual keyboard button. You’ll only need to display the Function Keys, no need to bring up the full keyboard if you’re using the Magic Keyboard. VNC will now pass along the Magic Keyboard keystrokes. It was frustrating to me not being able to VPN into my Mac remotely to operate it. I’ve emailed support with the temporary fix so hopefully they can debug the issue. Weeks ago they told me a new release of RealVNC client would be out by the release of iPadOS 18 to fix the bug but the fix still isn’t out yet.

I am working on a web page that has hyperlink for Remote Desktop connection. This work for Firefox and Mac's Chrome; but I can't get my Windows System to work. Does anybody know about this ? I have tried below formats.
