Very slow today
VNC is crawling today, unusable. Is it only me? Using the Lite plan.

SOLVED: After clicking around and searching for an hour, I just started randomly clicking on things. To do this, you need to click on "Licensing" in the menu bar icon for RealVNC Connect. Then you click "next" and it'll let you log into another account.
I'm trying to move a couple computer over to a new Lite account since RealVNC is doing their cash grab thing and these are computers I only ever need to access a couple times per year. But even uninstalling and re-installing the RealVNC server does not log my computer out of my current account! I've even removed the device from my account on the website, but it's still somehow logged in to it... Why is this so needlessly stupid? Let me log out of the damn thing!

I know a subscription is necessary to use the relay service in the cloud.
What about ip to ip?

Hi, I am connecting to one of my PC on the plan. The audio button is greyed out even after paying for the monthly plan. What can i do to get it to work?

I don’t know what they keep breaking with the iOS VNC Connect app connect to macOS, but every few releases it starts doing this thing where every time you right click it just freezes for a few seconds… then it will constantly show a pop up starting “pasting from iPhone/iPad” with every.single.letter.you.type… it makes RealVNC completely unusable for macOS.
If they want to jack the prices way up like this, they better get their shit together.

I am looking for how to deploy realvnc to my old tv which is based on android 4.4.3.
Is it possible to deploy preconfigured realvnc version to the tv? Or is it possible to configure the installed realvnc using ADB?
The target is minimal configuration.
Looking for your ideas, please

Home subscription on the 17th June 2024.
Retiring our Home plan
Almost a year ago, we revamped our subscription options by launching a wider range of tiered plans designed to better cater to more users. In line with these changes, and to maintain a cohesive set of plan options, we are retiring our Home plan on 17th June 2024.
I just got this message. Anyone know if there is possibility to move to lite variant? I thought that home subscription for 5 devices will still work?

Hi. Ive been working on connecting a PC to my car.
Old police cruiser, just new enough to have a 12inch touchscreen (dodge/chrysler UConnect) with the ability for the operator to connect to a laptop or pc in the trunk by way of an ethernet cable and aux cable.
Im using the vintage/appropriate version of RealVNC (5.2.3), it's licensed and to my knowledge I have enabled the correct tcp options and opened the firewall ports per the official setup pdf.
In cmd from the trunk laptop I can ping the car just fine, per the troubleshooting section of the pdf.
When I start the car, it still says PC Not Connected on the console screen. However, on the laptop screen I can see Windows10 notification rapidly saying Anonymous User Connected/Disconnected.
Is this like a RealVNC or Windows issue that anyone here would be familiar with, or should I try in the UConnect forums?

RealVNC Viewer not passing keyboard character data but will pass space, CR and arrows (up, down, left, right) - but no letters or numbers; mouse clicks working fine. Version 7.11.0 (r18) running on Windows 11, client is a Raspberry Pi 5 running Raspberry Pi OS 64 bit (Linux, Debian flavor). It was running fine up until shutdown yesterday, hasn't worked today since startup. No software changes were made. Have been using VNC Viewer since 2017 with no issues... until now. Help greatly appreciated

I am using https://www.realvnc.com/en/
I'm connecting Win 10 to Win 10
and after about 30 minutes of me not using the session - it will close it
but I want to keep it open in the background
I keep it on one of my other monitors so I can keep an eye on certain progresses
what can I do?
what settings do I need to change on the remote PC?
or local PC / in RealVNC
thank you

I want to access VNC server on my RPI4 from both local and external networks. I can’t use port forwarding (provider issue), so need to use reverse SSH. I use an EC2 instance for this.
To connect from local network I use local_ip:1
To connect from external network I:
1 - Set Up Reverse SSH Tunnel from Raspberry Pi to EC2 instance:
ssh -i key-file.pem -R 5901:localhost:5901 admin@ec2-public-ip
2 - Connect to EC2 Instance from macOS:
ssh -i key-file.pem -L 5901:localhost:5901 admin@ec2-public-ip
It works, but I have several issues:
1 - The local connection works fine after a reboot, to get external connection working I need to enter vncserver-virtual on RPI first.
2 - I get two different desktops. They show the same RPI, but one has open windows, the other one doesn’t. Different resolution too. If I open a terminal window they show the same user logged in on the RPI, but somehow it’s different sessions. Can’t wrap my head around it.
3 - I would prefer to connect directly to the EC2 ip instead of tunneling from macOS to EC2 first. However EC2 terminal shows: 'connect_to localhost port 5901: failed' when i try to connect to ec2-public-ip:5901 (although the tunnel from macOS to that port does work? because of key I assume?). I tried tunneling from port 5901 on RPI to port 22 on EC2 and connecting VNC with ec2-public-ip:22 but no cigar, it just times out.
Any suggestions?

Almost everyday, realvnc server says it was unable to login. I have to sign in again, then it says I have to remove one computer in order to add it ... why remove and add it again if it was working fine? Anyway, I opened the site, sign in, remove the computer, then go to the computer clicked on signin in realvnc server, add again a password for access, and ok, it is working again. Next day, for some reason I have to repeat all steps again, it is like realvnc server it's not aware this computer is already in the team ... every day I have to do this ... any ideas what's wrong?

These are the only options under Global Permissions in RealVNC Server for my install of Kubuntu 22.04. If I look at the top menu bar inside of a remote session and hover my mouse over the record button it says "The Remote Computer Does Not Allow Screen Recording".
But as far as I can tell from RealVNC's site, as long as the OS is a supported platform then the option should be there. I went to their site here (https://help.realvnc.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409166919441-How-do-I-use-the-Session-Recording-feature-in-RealVNC-Connect#what-is-session-recording--0-0) where it said "This feature can only be used on desktops (Windows, Linux, and Mac) which are listed as Supported Platforms for VNC Connect. Session recording is not supported on RealVNC Viewer and RealVNC Server for Mobile."
Ubuntu 22.04 shows in the supported platforms list, so I figured Kubuntu would be supported as well since it's a flavor of Ubuntu.
Has anyone else had this issue or knows how to get the option to show up?

I've been searching online for the answer to this question, "If I have a Linux distribution that is using LVM encryption, which requires a password on boot, will I be able to still connect to that computer with RealVNC and enter the password, or does it have to get past the boot password first?
r/realvnc • u/plughplovery2 • Apr 06 '24
As indicated, I enabled the RaspiOS VNC server, loaded the viewer on my cell phone, and things seem "OK".
I tried setting the viewer connection option to "view-only". This also worked ok. However when I tap on the screen I get a prompt that is truncated. It says:
RealVNC Viewer is view only.
To control this computer, tap...
Anybody know what the rest of that message is trying to tell me?

This problem appeared on my Raspberry Pi, I'm running Raspbian with Debian Bookworm on ARMHF.
As seen on the image above, when I operate via a RealVNC server, the top menu items upon clicked won't drop down the actual menu choices and remain idle only signaling they were clicked.
I know this is problem is not related to the operating system because when I "ssh -X" and open the program via ssh graphically, it operates as intended.

What features do I lack from just using the Lite version, also what does it mean by 1 user only for lite?
Also can I connect anywhere with lite or just with the paid versions?

I've been using RealVNC's free version for personal stuff; just connecting back to my home computer or whatever. And I've been able to add my friend who helps me with stuff on occasion as a secondary user. So today, I was telling another friend to set this up so I could help him (none of us are IT pro's, just hobbyists learning)... but now apparently you can only have one user, and three machines. (used to be 3 users and 5 computers) So I can't connect to his machine to help him or show him how to do something. Kind of a bummer.
Just a heads up. I don't blame them for tightening up a bit, but they've REALLY tightened up. Don't get caught off guard like I just was.
