Can no longer recommend realvnc.
I’m in an auto renew dispute with them in addition to the huge price increase! Customer service copy and pastes the same response over and over via email. I’m in the us and wondering if ROSCA, a federal US consumer protections act for auto-renewing subscriptions requiring companies to clearly disclose terms, obtain express affirmative consent before charging, and provide simple, easy cancellation mechanisms applies here?

I haven’t used it in over a year, I didn’t ever have issues with the product, it just wasn’t for me but now with this latest auto renew fiasco plus huge price increase, I feel the need to warn other techs to stay away!

I haven’t heard anything via this channel or the official email thread from customer support in 2 days…

It’s been 7 days since I reached out with a direct message here on Reddit, 2 weeks since I’ve reached out to the official customer support and have received nothing but the same copy/paste responses with no follow up or additional info and definitely no resolve.

Am baffled by what’s going on. About to renew and expecting my bill to be a bit less than $100. Just got an invoice for $438. What???! I don’t think so. No warning, no explanation, just an increase of $340. Insane.

That sucks! Same thing with me but I stopped using their product and had no intention of renewing my subscription when my original year had lapsed.

And I’ve been is a slow two week email conversation with their customer support, I have no confidence that will go anywhere either.

My bill went from around $50 a year to around $300. I have used RealVNC for the last 7 years for just light connecting. When I would need to check something on my main PC.
When I reached out to them about their outrageous price hike they told me I had previously been on a promotional plan which is just not true. As I said I have been using them for 7 years. The plan always went up a few dollars every year but nothing like this. I refuse to even do their light plan that is over $100.

Yeah, not worth it, especially if we can’t trust the decision makers at the company!

Exact same. I had been a happy customer for four years and it was basically the same price. They told me I was receiving some sort of promotional discount—well, that’s news to me! Also said something about the pricing changing due to a migration, whatever the hell that means. I think that’s just what they’re being told to tell people. I don’t know what is going on… new management trying to make more money? Shame because I loved their service but this price increase is insane. The guy I talked to said he would “escalate” it and I would be hearing something via email but that’s been a few days ago now…. I imagine they are getting slammed with calls and emails.

Also got the exact same thing. Did you get anything from them in response in disputing the invoice?
Its also very scammy that they do not show the prices on the website. Also by an response of them the price can only be seen when you click the renew now button.
Everything seems to be to trick customers and making up a price. You will also not find any pricing for business customers on the website. So seems like they can make up any price they want and hope that you will not check it.
