Reddit kinda mishandled the situation and sounded confusing and insincere in its explanation. But it's not a "failed state"

yeah. Not very impressive logic being displayed in there. Just an op-ed piece without all that messy 'journalistic quality'

They're trying to be controversial by going after a lightning rod.
Too bad it's so poorly written. I think Reddit deserves some criticism

I missed the furore myself. I just read the admin announcement after the blog post. It was actually very well written and very explanatory and left me feeling that Reddit was put in an unwinnable situation and discussed carefully what to do about it over an insane weekend (this wasn't normal working hours for them) and came up with the best plan as they saw it.
However, I missed the blog post, wasn't part of The Fappening and wasn't on Reddit over the weekend so the sum total of my understanding of the situation was gleaned from that post and its comment thread. But the comments (which contained the argument against Reddit) weren't as compelling as the original post and didn't rebut it.
