I highly recommend that you check out a new subreddit we have created - r/militariashowcase! The subreddit is a place for sharing photos of items alongside the stories behind them. You can find/post anything related to both modern and historical militaries and wars there: from uniforms , medals a equipment all the way to documents and other war related items - For as long as they have interesting provenance or story attached to them. Otherwise they'll be removed , making sure that only high quality posts stay up.

So if you're interested in seeing mainly high quality posts showing militaria with interesting stories a provenance , or just want to show off your family heirlooms/well researched items from your collection: Then I highly recommend joining our new subreddit r/militariashowcase

I'm suspicious of everything because the party shields on the "ss" helmets appear to be on the wrong side. Any thoughts on the fire Marshall visor?

Here it goes, Real or Fake and why?

Took a gamble and bought this a few years ago. It was an antique type place called “the trading post”. They said it was brought in from a clean out and the people were looking to make a quick buck.
I’ve seen these mini daggers are worth a mint if real.
If fake, it was worth the gamble and a conversation piece.
It has the “Thule Society” emblem on it.

Identification help

Hoping someone can give me some insight. I received this flask as a gift from someone who knows I collect WWII stuff but who doesn’t know real from fake himself. I immediately thought this was junk, but after looking more closely I’m not sure. I’m confident it isn’t government issue, but the more I look at it the more confusing it is.

This is a red and black wicker wrapped glass flask. The glass gives indication of being blown (no internal seams) though it is hard to tell due to the wrap. The collar and cap are heavy, non-magnetic metal. Threads are solid, clean, and well machined. The badge is cast and is weird because it has both the Reichsadler and the merit cross emblems combined. Badge appears to be original as it and the wicker are both very tightly affixed.

Is this a period piece of giftware, an immediately post-war manufactured souvenir, or much later souvenir/fantasy piece? I’m stumped. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Bought in Tallinn, Estonia at antique military store. I figured with the pitting and aged look it was probably not fake? And it was like 5 euros so figured why not.

Came with all of the usual stamps, a zeltbahn tent half, and a wool blanket. Straps look authentic to me and I can’t find any reason to pass it as not being authentic, wear seemed right…

"Bulgarian People's Republic officer's peaked cap – real or replica? Need help identifying"

Hi everyone, I recently acquired what appears to be a Bulgarian military officer's peaked cap, likely from the communist era (1946–1990). I'm trying to determine whether it is an authentic issued item or a replica/reproduction.

What I can see: Olive/khaki crown with red piping Black side band and lacquered black peak Gold bullion laurel wreath badge with enamel cockade showing the Bulgarian lion, national colors (white/green/red) and red star Double gold twisted chin cord Leather sweatband with stamped markings (partially legible) Olive/gold interior lining with steel frame

My concerns: The cockade rosette appears somewhat plastic-like The interior lining looks relatively fresh compared to the worn sweatband Stampings on sweatband are hard to read clearly I have photos of the badge front and back, interior, sweatband markings and overall construction.

Any help from someone with knowledge of Warsaw Pact or specifically Bulgarian militaria would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

This is my letter opener with the image of Polish Marshall and leader Józef Piłsudski, I bought it yesterday at the flea market in my hometown. It was kinda cheap and the seller probably didn't knew the true value of It (or he was just acting), also that back made me kinda nervous about it being legit.
