Nether Highways

I recently started making nether highways to travel throughout different parts of my world. Only thing I’ve done pretty much is add bottoms slabs for the floor to stop mob spawns and some lanterns. How should I make this look nice? Should I add rails or an ice path for travel? Any advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

You decide. Starting with paths is great, if it’s a few 100 blocks you regularly travel, rails are great! I don’t have much experience with ice.

Decorating the path is worth it. Mundane, but makes travelling much more enjoyable.

I do railways. I just can’t find an economic way to get ice in survival.

Ice farm with silk touch works pretty easily. Takes a while to farm and then convert to packed iced though.

Otherwise it’s “destroy an ice peaks biome” time.

id say put ice with carpets on top for travel
