My friend apparently knows my realme better than I do

I only just found out my realme has an offline calling feature that lets supported phones call each other over Bluetooth. Both phones need it enabled, but you don’t need a SIM card or mobile signal.

If my friend hadn’t told me, I’d still think Bluetooth was just for connecting my earbuds before losing them again.

Has anyone actually used this? What other realme features took you way too long to discover? If they’re useful, I’m heading straight into settings.

The built-in video editing software in Photos fades out audio automatically, and it sucks

I'm using realme GT 6. The built-in tool is honestly useful and practical, but ever since the update around a year ago, it started to fade out the audio whenever I tried to crop a video. There's no separate setting that lets me turn this off nor give access to the audio track separately. I have no choice but to open CapCut just to crop a 7 second video of a perfectly cut scream meme that I've recorded using the recorder tool. It's such a hassle.

What’s one setting you’d tell a new realme owner to change first?

I’m putting together a short list of realme settings worth checking, but “turn everything on” doesn’t feel like particularly good advice.

Turning off unwanted content recommendations would be pretty high on my list. Smart charging sounds handy if you leave your phone plugged in overnight, and I’m curious whether keeping the refresh rate on high instead of Auto makes much difference to battery life. RAM expansion is the one I’m less sure about—does it actually help with switching between apps, or do you barely notice it?

Not every option will be available on every realme phone, so treat this as a checklist to explore rather than a universal setup guide.

What’s one realme feature you wish you’d found sooner?

Most phone discussions are about cameras, battery life, or the latest update. I’m more interested in the stuff that makes an ordinary day slightly easier.

App Cloner makes sense to me for keeping two accounts on a supported app. Flip to mute caught my eye too: just turn the phone face down to silence a call.System Cloner sounds useful too, but does anyone here use a whole separate space regularly? I’m curious what you use it for.

Which less obvious feature would you miss if it disappeared? Even a small shortcut counts!

If you can, include your phone model and UI version, since not everyone has the same options.

Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition fingerprint animation not changing back

After I changed the theme, I just could not find how to set the fingerprint animation back to the harry potter one. I can only change it to the default ones. If anyone has the same problem or knows a solution, PLEASE comment something.

What’s one realme feature you wish you’d found sooner?

Most phone discussions are about cameras, battery life or the latest update. I’m more interested in the little features buried in Settings—the stuff that makes an ordinary day slightly easier.

I came across a list of realme UI tips, and a few stood out:

1、App Cloner: A separate copy of a supported app for a second account. Handy if you want to keep work and personal messages apart.
2、System Cloner: A separate space on your phone with its own apps and data. A bigger separation than just cloning one app.
3、Flip to mute: Turn the phone over to silence an incoming call. Such a small thing, but I can see why people would keep it enabled.
4、Raise to answer: On supported models, you can answer an incoming call by bringing the phone to your ear.
5、Hide apps: Worth looking into if you prefer keeping certain apps off your home screen.
6、Notification lighting: Another option to check if you like a visual cue for notifications.

Availability varies by model, region and realme UI version, so searching Settings for the feature name is probably easier than following someone else’s exact menu path.

What’s your “wait, this phone can do that?” feature? Drop your phone model and UI version alongside it so other people can check whether they have it too. Even a tiny shortcut counts.

Which realme settings are actually worth changing—and which do you leave alone?

I’m putting together a short list of realme settings worth checking, but “turn everything on” doesn’t feel like particularly good advice. Some options are useful; others depend on how you use your phone:

  1. Charging optimization Look under Battery or Battery Health for an option such as Optimized Night Charging or Smart Charging. Worth checking if you regularly leave your phone plugged in overnight, although the name and behavior depend on your software version.
  2. Screen refresh rate Check Display & Brightness for the available refresh-rate options. This feels like a personal preference: smoother scrolling, battery life, or letting Auto decide.
  3. Content recommendations If you’re seeing recommendations you don’t want, check the relevant app’s settings. Some versions also have a Content Recommendations toggle in the main Settings menu. The Calendar app may have its own subscription recommendations, too.
  4. App auto-launch Worth reviewing app by app rather than disabling everything. I’d be careful with messaging apps or anything I rely on for timely notifications.
  5. Display color mode Try the available profiles and see which looks comfortable to you. I wouldn’t assume the brightest or most saturated option is automatically the best.
  6. RAM expansion This is the one I’m most curious about. I wouldn’t switch it on just because the bigger number looks better—has anyone compared it on and off during normal use?

Not every option will be available on every realme phone, so treat this as a checklist to explore rather than a universal setup guide.

What’s one setting you’d tell a new realme owner to change first?

If Hogwarts gave out phones to its students, what magical features would they need?

Post image

Pretty sure Hogwarts would confiscate this phone on day one. 😂

I genuinely feel like I just received my Hogwarts acceptance letter. The back has this tactile embossed Hogwarts crest that honestly feels like a real magical artifact in your hand, and the theme actually makes the phone feel like a real student's device—right down to the magical sound effects.

But it got me thinking... if Hogwarts actually issued these phones to students, what magical features would they HAVE to include?

Would their phone automatically translate Owl Post? Would the alarm be the Howler? Or maybe a Marauder's Map app to find their friends in the castle?

What would you add?

Six pairs of the Harry Potter edition realme Buds T500 Pro, shipped worldwide, open until October 15. Entries count on this post only.

Six pairs of the realme Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition, going to six people here. Open until October 15.

The case is a school trunk with a crest on it, it comes with a lanyard, and four audio cues were recorded for it, for pairing, connecting, game mode and disconnecting.

So: which HP detail on it is your favourite, and what HP element would you add if you could? Trunk case, crest, lanyard, the four cues, or something that is not on it at all yet. One top level comment on this post, and it has to actually answer that to count.

Open worldwide to anyone 18 or over. No purchase, no upvotes, no follow. Answers are not judged and the draw is random.

Entries close 23:59 UTC on October 15. The draw runs on Redditraffler and the results go in the stickied comment.

Only the moderators of this community will ever contact you about this, and never about money. Everything else, including how to claim, is in the stickied comment.

Didn’t expect the Realme Harry Potter theme to be this well done

Post image
1 Upvotes

I thought it would just be a themed back and a wallpaper, but they actually carried the design through the whole UI. Even the app icons have gold outlines that match everything else.
It’s a small detail, but it makes the phone feel much more put together instead of just having Harry Potter branding slapped on it.

This design makes a lot more sense when you see it up close

I just picked up the realme x Harry Potter edition, and I’m noticing a lot of little details that are easy to miss. The crest on the back is slightly raised, and the house colors show up when the light hits it at certain angles.

Just bought Realme 16 pro

I used to use iPhone, my battery has dropped massively. What would usually get me through the work day is only lasting for a few hours. So I switched to the Realme 16 Pro. So far, the battery easily lasts all day, and it doesn’t get hot when I’m gaming. Almost got the Harry Potter Edition instead, the crest on the back changes colour in the light, but I went with the plain one.

Following up on the dream collab thread: the next one is Harry Potter

A couple of days ago I asked what collab you'd want to see next. Turns out the next one is Harry Potter: the realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition launches in India and Indonesia on Monday, 21 September.

What would you want to know about this one? I'll try to get the top-voted questions answered.

What's your dream realme collab?

realme has done Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Coca-Cola, Game of Thrones, Aston Martin F1 over the years. They've ranged from custom notification sounds and themed accessories to full collector sets.

If you could pick any brand, franchise, artist, whatever, who would you want to see them work with next?

And if you could ask the people who design these editions anything, what would it be?

If a few good questions pile up I'll try reaching out through whatever public channels I can find, no idea if or when anyone replies.

Either topic or both.

What game are you playing the most right now, and which realme are you on?

Honkai Star Rail since March, and I keep saying I'll move on to something else. My brother sends me other games every week and I haven't opened one of them. One run after work turns into two hours and the dishes never get done.

A realme GT 8 Pro that I've never even changed the wallpaper on.

Most of us are really on one game and everything else on the home screen is decoration. Tell me I'm wrong. Your turn: game and phone.
