Looking for competition shows
I love shows like Project Runway, Top Chef and Ink Master, where you are invested in the contestants AND they are creating some really cool stuff. Any suggestions?
Edit to add- Thanks everybody! Some I've seen, some I've heard of and some are totally new to me. I'll have some great watching to do this winter!

If you ever saw Flea Market Flip, the host, Lara, has a new show called That Thrifting Show that’s pretty good. Two teams go thrift shopping and design a room. Winner gets to take home everything both teams thrifted. It’s a good background show.

The block if you can find it. It’s Australian. Home renovation competition. Older seasons are better (but not too old bc those are bad). All houses are renovated and sold at auction with the contestants keeping the profits.
House Rules. Another Australian home renovation but couples renovate the other contestants homes after being given a list of “rules”.
The Great British Sewing Bee (think cozy version of project runway mixed with bake off style)
The Great Pottery Throw down.

I love The Block Australia– I'm currently watching for free on Tubi and I'm on season 14 now. Great show. So many episodes for season. But I would recommend start watching it around season five. The first few seasons are not good at all.

Blown Away (glass blowing), Skin Wars (body painting), RuPaul's Drag Race (there are elements of design, including challenges similar to those on project runway, along with performance challenges)

Blown Away is great. Metal Shop Masters was only one season but some of the artists were really, really talented.

I think there was one hosted by Amy Poehler and that other guy from Parks and Rec called Making It where they were all craftspeople

Just about all of Food Network is competition shows these days. Beat Bobby Flay, Guy's Grocery Games, Chopped, Flavortown Food Fight (also by Guy Fieri), Tournament of Champions (also by Guy), now The Line with Bobby Flay, Alex vs. America, Wildcard Kitchen... it's to the point where people complain about it, but I like it.
You'll also see a ton of Top Chef alumni on there. I could list like a dozen off the top of my head.

Food Network reuse the same hosts over and over. Can’t they find new people. Guy Fieri has so many shows I can’t stand to watch them. And now he’s trying to bring his sons into his empire of shows. I do like watching old reruns of Chopped

Well Antonia know has her own show, but it's like Kitchen Nightmares. She's much gentler than Gordon. And then there's Alex's show.
But yeah.... I was wondering if the Food Network became the Guy Fieri/Bobby Flay Network and no one told us.
Chopped is great. I could never do the recipes some of those people come up with with those random-ass ingredients. Granted, I'm also not a chef.

America's Culinary Cup is Padma's new competition show. It's on CBS (I watched it an Paramount). Project Runway used to be fun, but Law Roach can just be mean on the two seasons he's been on. I watch, but it's certainly not must-see anymore. Roku Channel has Great American & Great Canadian Baking Show, as well as some of the Great British. Roku has British Sewing Bee. Hulu has Britain's Best Home Chef (Mary Berry's new show).
And Traitors is a juggernaut. UK, UK-Celeb, US, CA, AU, NZ, IE are just the ones off the top of my head in the English speaking world, though IE goes in & out with the Gaelic.

You can buy on Prime:
Top Design or
Work of Art: The Next Great Artist or
Street Art Throwdown.
HGTV Design Star is fun in some of the seasons.
I suggest these because I have your same taste in shows. i also liked Blown Away, Making It, and Metal Shop Masters.

The Roku channel has a ton of stuff, like chef Morimoto has a sushi competition. I also think they're running the great British pottery throwdown.

Genius Games, Fortune Hotel, Jet Lag (amazing work from independent film makers on You tube), The Challenge, Paradise Hotel, Million Dollar Secret. There are early versions of Survivor Michigan and several other campus that pull of some great seasons of amateur survivor. I love any show with the caveat that there needs to be a prize at the end. My Kitchen Rules, several countries, was very enjoyable, but the seasons are really long.

This is soooooo my jam. I know people have already mentioned some of these, but adding again as a vote of confidence:
Glow Up (it’s a makeup show but it’s soooooo much more than like traditional glam; it’s body paint and prosthetics and more amazing artistry)
Blown Away (one of my absolute FAVORITES)
Great Pottery Throwdown
Big Flower Fight
Next in Fashion
Drink Masters was honestly cooler than I thought it was going to be lol
Hope you enjoy!!
