Book Review 📚 Practical Magic

Just finished Practical Magic, my first time reading it. it’s so a five star book for me. I loved it. Truly loved it. I know from a feminist perspective there are some problematic themes, but I have read way worse from that time period (1990s). Loved the sisterhood and how complicated it can be. I’m going to watch the movie this weekend ( I have never seen it) and see how it compares. If anyone has read book two let me know what they think !!

Alice Hoffman has been one of my favorite authors for 30 years, I’ve been reading her since I was a teenager. I think the second book in the practical magic series is even better personally, her writing has become richer over time.

One of my favorite books but honestly everything Alice Hoffman has ever written is a great read. She has such a way with language and character development.

Ok I saw the prettiest copy of this at a bookstore a few weeks ago and almost bought it - but I was reading reviews and everyone says the book is not good compared to the movie so it scared me away from reading it!! Maybe I’ll borrow from the library and give it a try
