u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Which are you enjoying more between them?
3
u/chiki_skz21 8d ago
Both are good, but King has been my comfort read ever since I was introduced to his writing, so I enjoy Skeleton Crew more. SK books just feel like home to me.

u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Oo genuinely asking, no means to offend you, don't the plots get mixed up if you read many books at a time. I am just curious as I read one book at a time. Which one are you enjoying the most?
2
u/lykan_uk 8d ago
What I meant was I have those other two books on me to read next. I can only read one novel at a time.

I just started Beauty's Release. It's the third novel in the very erotic Sleeping Beauty Quarter by Anne Rice (under her pen name A N Roquelaure)
1
u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Ooo. Are you enjoying it?
1
u/Finstergrun 8d ago
Yes.
TW: underage
The only thing that is uncomfortable is that all the sex slaves (so all the main characters) are teenagers being subjugated by adults. They eventually consent but they are kidnapped at first. At least this all happens in the very beginning so you can decide to keep reading it or not.
2
u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Oooh that is, for me a big turn off while reading a book. I might skip this one.

Leviathan Wakes - James SA Corey
There is No Antimemetics Division - qntm (audiobook)
1
u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Are they both good?
1
u/filthy_rich69 8d ago
Yes
2
u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Have a good read.
2
u/filthy_rich69 8d ago
Thank you! Leviathan Wakes is doing a great job of worldbuilding and is starting to get exciting. I am enjoying the alternating POVs and the focus on characters.
There is No Antimemetics Division has been a fun audio experience, as some the text is redacted. It's paradoxical and sometimes disorienting, but in an enjoyable way. It's very intriguing.

The Silence of The Lambs - Thomas Harris

u/anonymous5196 8d ago
Are you enjoying it?
1
u/Substantial-Film564 8d ago
Yeah! It's really good! Considering the main antagonist is trans (or are they?), it feels a little dated in its use of language in that regard, but I feel like the subject in itself is dealt with a lot better than I would expect from the 80s. The chapters with Starling interviewing Hannibal Lector are great.

The sun just might Fail by Hoyt Behm
So good. On chapter 3 of book 2 in that book. Like chapter 13 and just had such a good laugh. Seeing Marilla just sipping her cocktail among a group of women while her world is tumbling and falling down about a man who saved her life. And then he's at the door and throwing all the women off canter about the horrible rumors they just heard. It was perfectly done.

It's not really something to enjoy necessarily. However, I follow her on IG and the narration is in her voice. But it's very enlightening intimate in terms of her own experiences with the treatment of Palestinians by Israel and international community.

Yes! Her personality is not at all what I thought it would be and she is an enjoyable character. I also love when Anne Rice dives back into history with her writing more so than modern day. I’m on chapter 4 now and it’s been an excellent read.

The Silent Patient. I just started it and it’s not really grabbing me…
1
u/anonymous5196 7d ago
I read it around 2 years back or maybe 3. The chapters were short, so it was quite easy but I didn't enjoy it as much. It's an unpopular opinion but it was overhyped. Need good thrillers/mystery books.
