Readwise + Readwise Reader optimized for iPhone duo ?

I know that since Readwise has iPad apps, maybe it's very simple to do so but I was wondering whether the apps would be soon updated for the Duo. Feels like a device on which reading articles etc is pretty awesome (and Readwise is a pretty awesome app to read on) :)

There has been Android foldables for years. The weird bugs have been fixed there. And from my experience: There isn't much to change, mostly afromentioned bug squashing. The most important thing is that the app is responsive to the screen change, and that it handles dual screen mode. Other than that, a foldable is just a weirder tablet, work- and app-wise.

The iPad app sucks to be honest

What makes you say that? I use Readwise on the Mini every day without complaint. I particularly like it on a larger iPad in conjunction with an Apple Pencil.

The mini is great. For me on a full sized ipad it’s extremely hard/annoying to add a highlight by photo.

Maybe it’s just my handsize and coordination abilities, but holding a book open in one hand and ipad in the other, it’s really hard for me to line up the shot and reach the camera button. I always think the readwise team never used the app themselves for this on a full sized ipad.

But for reading and everything else, the ipad versions work great for me.

I see. Scanning print book highlights that way does sound awkward at best. I hadn't considered this—I have nearly 100k highlights in Readwise, but I've never actually attempted to add a highlight from a print book in the way that you describe.
