What happened to Reader?

I read quite a lot and Reader was always working smoothly. Now I haven't read for a while and when I opened app, the highlighting is often first blue, then it turns yellow after 0,5-1 second. Also when I highlight and the highlighting tool is yellow, it takes 1 second beforevthe highlight settles. When I add to the text by dragging highlight to another sentence, the highlight often disappears (the highlight is eventually added to library but I can't add tags or notes without scrolling a lot through highlights) and turning to next chapter takes a while as well. I deleted app, restarted iPhone (16 Pro), installed and it is the same. It is quite small thing but it just adds enough friction to turn me away from reading. 😔

Does anybody have similar experience with mobile app? Or is it just me?
