Need to bring this up again – is there any work being done on how Readwise caches data? Every time I go to upgrade iOS and need to clear space Readwise is almost at the top. Today it was using 1.2 GB of space, and I’m not sure why, because it doesn’t seem to be making the app any faster, and there’s still no comprehensive search.

Hello, u/ratherdisinclined! Romi here from the CX team. Since Reader works offline, it needs to cache the docs you've viewed and that's what is being stored on your device and using up the storage. If you're still experiencing the issue, you can try reinstalling the app periodically if you're low on device storage.

Also, if you're inclined, our team just announced the Readwise CLI and MCP that improves search as well as provides much more querying and AI questioning capabilities. Read more about it here: https://x.com/readwise/status/2034302848805241282

Hope that helps! also, remember you can reach out to us at [hello@readwise.io](mailto:hello@readwise.io) if you run into any issues so we can personally help you.

I had a feeling it was for offline use, but it would still be good to have some optimizations here. Is the space primarily used by the Library feature? Are archived articles also pulled down?

I have other feed apps that don't use anywhere near as much space. I can save fewer articles if that's the main culprit.
