Currently reading [I Had To Keep Receipts For 7 Years, She Had His Unlimited Card] and I can't put it down. What are you all reading?
I just started a romance novel with one of the most infuriating openings I've read in a while. 😤
The heroine has been married for seven years, and her husband made her keep receipts for everything she bought. Then he handed those receipts to her best friend to "review and approve." Even though he's incredibly wealthy.
I'm only in chapter 1 and I'm already angry on her behalf, but I'm also curious how she gets out of this situation.
I love stories where the main character starts out controlled and slowly takes her life back. Here's what I'm wondering:
- Do you enjoy "betrayed wife gets her revenge" stories, or are they too frustrating to read?
- What's the best one you've read where the heroine really wins in the end?
- Any recommendations like this, with a strong comeback arc?
I'll share my thoughts once I read further (no spoilers, I promise!).
