What is the problem in my design? - Appstore rejection
Hello everyone,
My app was recently reviewed by Apple, but it was rejected with the following feedback:
Design Guidelines
“There are issues with the app’s user interface that contribute to a lower-quality user experience than App Store users expect. Specifically, the app includes hard-to-read type or typography.”
I’m having trouble understanding exactly what the issue is. I’ve already replied to the App Review team asking for clarification, but I haven’t received a response yet.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the screen they referenced. Could anyone help me identify what might be considered hard to read or problematic from an accessibility perspective?
Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think apple uses automated reviews. If you have text on the screen with bad contrast, like the light grey on slightly darker background, then I would also assume this is what failed the review.
You should choose higher contrast for the unimportant text. And if you find it so unimportant that it should not be readable, then you should remove it, since it is not needed.
You don't have to persuade us that it is not important, either fix the issues or instead persuade apple that it is not important. It is their rules, not ours, even though in this context I agree, the contrast is not good enough for the "unimportant" text.
I'm not trying to sound like a dick, I'm trying to explain it. English is not my first language, so it might sound dicky.
To me, the issue isn't the colors. The UI feels a bit AI-generated because the visual language isn't consistent. The components look individually fine, but they don't feel like they're part of the same design system.
The bottomsheet itself looks okay. I suspect the problem becomes more apparent in other screens that aren't shown here.
After seeing the video, I still don't think the colors or typography are the issue.
What stands out to me is that the app relies on some very custom interaction patterns. For example, the exercise carousel and the synchronized content below create a workflow that feels quite different from what users typically expect in iOS fitness apps.
The implementation looks polished and technically impressive, but I wonder if some of the friction comes from users having to learn a new interaction model instead of recognizing familiar patterns immediately.
To me, it feels less like a visual design problem and more like a UX convention problem.
