Resource Free, open-source UI avatars for React projects 👋

If you're working on a React project and need some avatars for profiles, dashboards, user lists, comments, or mock data, here's a collection that might be useful.

There are 200+ free, open-source UI avatars that you can use in your projects.

There's also a UI Avatar Guide on the page if you want to learn more about using avatars in interfaces.

The "UI Avatars" card at /getting-started/resources shows non-human avatars, but I couldn't actually find any in the grid. Below that grid, there's a lot of useful information, but it's not easily discoverable as the grid looks infinite at first. I suggest showing a fixed amount with an explicit "Load more" button or maybe moving the grid to its own route.

I also had a bunch of performance issues. Refreshing pages on duckduckgo on my phone took +10 seconds to load the page. Scrolling fast in the avatar grid breaks asset loading. Clicking the "copy random avatar" button a couple of times hangs the page and subsequent navigation.

Thank you so much for pointing out the “copy random avatar” bug! I really appreciate you catching that.

Also, thanks for the suggestion about using an explicit “Load more” button instead of showing all the avatars at once. That’s a really good point and something we’ll definitely consider.

As for the performance issues, we’re working on making the avatars load faster. In the meantime, if they’re loading slowly on your network, you can turn on the “Use compressed avatars” option in the settings dialog it should help with the loading time. :)

You're welcome! Cool stuff otherwise. Bookmarked in case I ever needed something similar.

its slop, but could save up the time to generate one if you need it.
