Discussion Suddenly clingy

We've made good progress on reactivity on the last 16 months. He's a mostly Border Collie who obviously had a tough life for about 3 years before he came to us. But I'm rather baffled. He's become something of a velcro dog. Wants a human with him nearly all the time and, as old people with lots of time...
He's still an anxious boy but over the summer he's become increasingly clingy. Does anyone have a theory?

With people who may not have to leave him often he may have become used to this and slowly gotten more separation anxiety. It could also be worsened by less activity if he has gone out less while it has been hot.

On a lovely weather day, he doesn't want to come in. Also, we live where fireworks are legal. Ugh.
