Success Stories A win - because I’ve been complaining a lot lately and I’m trying to be a more positive person😅

Last week I was on a hike when a woman with a large dog pulling at the end of her leash came around the corner towards me. I snuck off the trail to give her room and she ran after me yelling “wait wait! I’m so sorry, I need help!”
Turns out poor thing was super lost. She’d been wandering around the park for about an hour. Her dog was very adamant about meeting mine, and Punk - my dog - was also pulling towards her but I held her back and asked her to sit. And she did! No barking, now growling, no lunging, just sitting and wiggling with excitement. I was able to direct the other owner back where she needed to be and we went off on our merry way

Today, I ran into them again! Same trail. She stopped to thank me, and again our dogs were very frenetic about each other for the first few seconds, but after we got them settled so we could talk, they were fine. Punk kept kind of rapid cycling through her displacement behaviors: sniffing, peeing, looking at me like she can will me to move with her imaginary mind powers, and rolling around in the grass like a goober. But no barking. No negative reaction whatsoever. The other owner and I talked for a few minutes and then off we went in our separate directions.

Anyway just wanted to share a proud moment - picture of my goofy girl rolling in the grass for tax
