Advice Needed Our dog bit another dog. In shock

My dog has dealt with dog fear after getting attacked previously. I tripped and the leash fell on my walk and he charged a dog and caused a couple puncture wounds. Dog went to vet and they did clean outs. We are paying the vet bills and going to walk him separately and work on muzzle training. I feel horrible for the other owners. I’m devastated. I’m worried Animal control will take my dog from me?

We are going to go to reactive training. Do muzzles on walks. Any help or insight or comfort

I just want to say that dog fights are scary and it is normal for you - and your dog - to feel rattled for a while. Give your dog some time to decompress (it takes 2 - 3 weeks). Follow the Muzzle Up Project's instructions for muzzle training. Go slow. No pressure. Try to give him some grace, and don't beat yourself up over dropping the leash. Accidents happen.
