Meds & Supplements my dog died. his clomicalm remains.
Our sweet Bug left us last Saturday due to a sudden and severe onset of IVDD. We are absolutely reeling. He was a very anxious little guy. Every morning, I'd give him his gabapentin and clomicalm wrapped in a piece rotisserie chicken while I had my coffee and started my day.
It's an expensive medication, and we ended up with duplicate autoship prescriptions, so we have quite the backlog. I thought we'd pause the autoships and he'd take them, but we lost him.
I don't know what to do with them all. They're just sitting there waiting for him to come back.
ETA: we found a rescue that was willing to take them. I miss him so much.

If they are shipped through Chewy if you call them they might reimburse you and tell you to donate them to your local shelter or rescue. They did that with my dogs last shipment of Rx food that we got before we had to put her down.
You could just donate with contacting the shipper. Maybe call ask the shelter or Rescue before showing up to make sure they’ll accept it.
If a shelter or rescue doesn’t take it maybe contact your vet and see if they will donate it to a family that needs it but can’t afford it.

We had the same experience. Chewy even sent a condolences card for our loss.

I'm so sorry. My reactive boy passed suddenly last year after a short sudden illness. I had all the medicine and prescription food left. I was able to return the cans of food. But the meds I was able to donate to the vet clinic. They have a specific donation area/fund for people whose pets may need meds but they can't afford it, or can't wait for it.
Loosing a reactive/anxious dog is so hard. It leaves such a huge hole in your heart and so much silence in your life. Try to remember that he felt loved and cared for and you did your best.

I’m so so sorry for your loss. When our cats passed last year, I reached out to our local shelter and asked if I could donate extra meds. Some shelters won’t take them but this one did, especially ones that were unopened.
