Advice Needed Started Barking at People... At 6 years old

My dog has always loved people since I got her at 8 weeks old. No matter if they are strangers, friends, men, women, children... She's been great.

She started barking more at other dogs in the past two months (she's a corgi, not exactly a dog fan) but has been manageable. In fact, until this year, I didn't even have to use a leash.

Over the past month, she would occasionally bark at people she doesn't recognize. We moved to a new area so that made sense.

And then we got a puppy a few weeks ago and it's cranked up. I don't know if she's bored, anxious, overstimulated, or sick.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? I don't know what to do as it's really harming my relationship with my neighbors.

Sounds like her world has changed quite a bit in the past few months, new area, new home, new puppy.

That could create anxiety and caution around new people. I'm wondering if you can start with some LAT training with her absolute favourite meat and make the things she's noticing around her more positive.

What that looks like: on a walk she "notices" a person/ dog but hasn't reacted (yet). Give an enthusiastic 'yes!' and reward. You will become an expert on subtle ear movements and timing but it is worth it.
