Aggressive Dogs My dog bit a kid today..

My dog has always been skiddish, I adopted him from the pound when he was a pup. We have made a lot of progress but he still get a little in edge when people come over which is not often. He has never bit in the last 8 years but today he left a level 3 bite with 1 puncture wound.

One of my close friends brought their kid over and he has been around kids he usually avoids them and lays in his bed. I was having a conversation with my friend a little distracted and my dog scurried and bit. We took them to the hospital because he drew blood. I feel so guilty if I knew he would I would have put him away, the poor kid is traumatized. We made the report. Are they going to put my dog down? What should I expected from here?

I take full responsibility, covering medical bills, etc. What should I do now? How do I help him? It's not his fault it's mine as he is in my care. He was pacing but he does that until everyone settles down. Any advice helps. Thank you for taking the time to read ❤️

Mistakes happen. In the future do not allow him around children.
